Set a record with 135 dishes made from pomelos

On the morning of April 12, at Dong Thanh Secondary and High School, Binh Minh town, Vinh Long province, the opening ceremony of Binh Minh pomelo festival took place. The event aims to honor local fruit specialties and attract tourists. The program also set a Vietnamese record with 135 culinary dishes made from pomelo.

Vice Chairwoman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh said: Thanh Tra Festival is not only an opportunity to introduce a unique specialty fruit of Vinh Long, but also an opportunity to honor the ingenuity of local women in culinary arts.

The festival attracts the participation of 20 culinary teams from all over the province, providing a space to enjoy a variety of dishes made from pomelos. 135 dishes made from pomelo introduced to the public

Thanh Tra is a specialty fruit of Binh Minh land, this place is famous for its long-stretching thanh tra gardens, mainly concentrated in Dong Thanh commune. According to the elders, thanh tra has been grown here for about 100 years.

The event attracted 20 culinary teams to participate.

The pomelo fruit is small, about the size of a chicken egg. When unripe, it is green and when ripe, it turns an eye-catching orange-yellow color.

Pomelo trees are now becoming a stable source of income for Binh Minh people.
