According to Circular No. 50/2025/TT-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , from June 1, 2026, E10 bioethanol fuel will officially be put into widespread use nationwide, completely replacing RON95 mineral gasoline.
This is an important step for Vietnam in its energy transition strategy, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and fulfill its commitment to achieving net emissions of zero by 2050.

In Ha Tinh, the transition to E10 gasoline sales has been smooth and consistent. After three weeks of implementation, the market is stable, sales are running smoothly, and no negative feedback has been received from customers. Not only has the transition received public support, but it also demonstrates the proactive approach of businesses in investing in infrastructure, blending technology, and building a stable supply source, laying the foundation for the development of green energy and carbon emission reduction. Currently, businesses are focusing on ensuring a continuous supply, maintaining product quality, and building long-term trust with consumers.
Vung Ang Petroleum Joint Stock Company (PVOil Vung Ang) will begin selling E10 gasoline in February 2026 and complete the conversion at 100% of its stores by mid-May 2026. To prepare for the transition, since the end of 2025, the company has invested in a modern blending system using intank and inline technology; and has proactively secured its supply of mineral gasoline and ethanol. With a total storage capacity of 60,000 m³ in the Vung Ang Economic Zone, the company is currently blending and selling 25,000 - 30,000 m³ of E10 gasoline per month.

Mr. Vu Hong Minh, Deputy Director of PVOil Vung Ang, said: "To ensure supply, the company regularly monitors inventory levels, proactively plans imports from domestic refineries, and coordinates the transportation of goods to the plant according to schedule. Each batch of E10 gasoline is sampled and tested for quality according to regulations before being released to the market to ensure the product meets the highest standards."
To proactively produce E10 gasoline, Giang Nam Petroleum Company - Ha Tinh Branch has also recently put into operation a storage system in the Vung Ang Economic Zone with a capacity of 60,000 m³, including 9 gasoline storage tanks and 5 ethanol storage tanks. Alongside investing in infrastructure, the company is stepping up its communication efforts to help customers better understand the characteristics, effectiveness, and environmental benefits of E10 bio-gasoline.

Mr. Dinh Hong Long, representative of Giang Nam Petroleum Company - Ha Tinh Branch, stated: "The company has focused its resources on investing in a modern blending system with advanced technology, ensuring product quality and fully meeting market demands at all times."
Meanwhile, Petrolimex Ha Tinh Co., Ltd. is maintaining a stable supply at 82 retail outlets throughout the province. Since June 1st, the company has supplied over 3,000 m³ of E10 gasoline and expects to supply nearly 6,000 m³ per month. To meet the requirements of the new fuel business, the company has invested in renovating the storage tank system, upgrading equipment at its stores, and training staff to provide accurate advice to customers about the product. After a period of operation, the system has not recorded any technical problems related to the use of E10 gasoline.
Mr. Truong Doan Duc, Deputy Director of Petrolimex Ha Tinh Co., Ltd., stated: "In 2026, the company expects to supply nearly 70,000 m³ of petroleum products, of which about 50% is E10 gasoline. We have proactively developed a scientific import plan to ensure continuous supply while optimizing costs to offer competitive prices to consumers."

According to reports, 242 retail gasoline stations in Ha Tinh have completed the conversion to selling E10 gasoline in accordance with the roadmap set by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The implementation has shown that the supply remains stable, the distribution system operates smoothly, and it has initially received the approval of consumers.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Tuan (Thanh Sen ward) shared: "I did quite a bit of research on E10 gasoline before using it. In practice, the car engine runs stably, with no significant difference compared to before. This is an environmentally friendly fuel, so I fully support it."

Mr. Tran Van Lam, Deputy Head of the Trade Management Department (Ha Tinh Department of Industry and Trade), shared: "In the past period, the Department of Industry and Trade has directed market management forces to strengthen propaganda and supervision at retail gasoline stations. The focus has been on disseminating new regulations, checking product quality, measuring, price listing, and ensuring supply to serve the people."
To ensure the stability of the E10 gasoline business, the Department of Industry and Trade will continue to disseminate information and provide guidance to help consumers understand biofuels correctly, trust and support the policy of using biofuels. It will also continue to coordinate with relevant authorities to strengthen inspection and supervision of the retail sale of E10 gasoline at stores in the area to ensure product quality and consumer rights; and simultaneously implement plans to ensure the supply of petroleum products to meet the needs of people and businesses.
