On the morning of June 1st, E10 bioethanol fuel officially began selling at many gas stations nationwide. Reporters from the Vietnam News and Ethnic Minorities Newspaper observed that supply was normal, with abundant quantities and no signs of overload or disruption. Station staff proactively advised customers about the new fuel, while many consumers expressed interest in the environmental benefits of E10.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade , E10 gasoline is a blend of 10% bioethanol with mineral gasoline, contributing to reduced carbon emissions and decreased dependence on fossil fuels. Studies and assessments by regulatory agencies and automobile and motorcycle manufacturers show that most vehicles currently in circulation in Vietnam can use this type of fuel without significantly affecting performance or engine lifespan.
To prepare for the transition, key enterprises such as Petrolimex and PVOIL have invested in upgrading blending systems, storage tanks, distribution infrastructure, and proactively securing ethanol raw materials for production. The implementation on the first day showed that the supply system was ready to meet market demand.
The official introduction of E10 into circulation is expected to contribute to promoting the green transition in the energy sector, while gradually realizing Vietnam's emission reduction and sustainable development goals.
