Safety in the digital environment
Digital transformation is becoming increasingly evident in every household, from paying bills and handling administrative procedures to accessing information, healthcare, business, and raising children. While technology offers many conveniences, it also poses significant risks if users lack the skills to identify information, protect personal data, and guide children to participate in the online environment safely.
Responding to this need and the "Digital Literacy Movement," women's associations at all levels in the province have promoted the development of "Digital Branch," "Digital Women," and "Digital Family" models. These models bring digital skills closer to daily life, helping women use technology to develop their economy , connect with others, and care for and protect their families. Therefore, a "Digital Family" is not just a family that knows how to use smartphones or social media, but also a family that knows how to behave safely, civilly, and effectively in the digital environment.

In Ha Long ward, the development of "Digital Families" stems from the very specific needs of its members and women. The Women's Union of the ward has organized training courses to improve skills in using information technology, safe online interaction, and building models of "Digital Branches" and "Digital Families". To date, more than 5,000 officials, members, and their families have accessed and become familiar with digital utilities, gradually changing their habits in daily life, business, and family management.
Ms. Tran Thi Nha, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Ha Long Ward, said: "Initially, many members, especially older women, were hesitant to use smartphones, worried about making mistakes or revealing personal information. Therefore, we chose to provide direct guidance in small groups, focusing on skills relevant to daily life, such as transferring money, scanning QR codes, searching for information, and performing online procedures. When they saw how technology saved time and made business and daily life more convenient, the women confidently used it and became guides for their family members to use the internet safely and responsibly."
Mastering digital skills also empowers women to better support their children online, stay vigilant against scams, access public services and healthcare, and manage family life more effectively. This is a new but practical aspect of building families in the digital age, where the safety of each home extends beyond traditional living spaces to the online environment.
In the first six months of 2026, women's associations at the local and unit levels in the province maintained 1,559 fanpages and 1,551 Zalo groups from the provincial to the grassroots level; built 448 models and clubs of "Digital Families," and digital transformation groups to serve information and propaganda at the grassroots level. The associations at all levels also applied information technology and artificial intelligence to design 32 posters and 8 video clips for propaganda, contributing to bringing official information to members faster and more easily.
Building a progressive and civilized family.
Women in Quang Ninh currently account for approximately 49.5% of the population and 47% of the province's workforce. In both family and society, women participate in labor and economic development while playing a crucial role in caring for and educating children, preserving traditions, and building a stable, equal, and progressive family environment. Over the years, women's associations at all levels in the province have identified family-related work as a key priority in their activities and the women's movement.
The emulation movements and campaigns were implemented in a way that was closely linked to the specific lives of the members, most notably the campaign "Building a family with 5 no's, 3 clean's, and 3 safe's" and the emulation movement "Building the Vietnamese woman of the new era". These contents have contributed to promoting the leading role of women in building prosperous, progressive, equal, and happy families, while preserving the beautiful cultural values of the Vietnamese family.

The Women's Union at all levels has also actively promoted and spread the positive values of Vietnamese families, the cultural characteristics, and the people of Quang Ninh. Many forums, conferences, and training courses have been organized with practical content such as building prosperous and happy families; practicing a civilized lifestyle; skills in preventing and combating violence and sexual abuse against children; sex education and adolescent reproductive health; and "Digital Family - Safe, Connected, and Developing in the Digital Age"...
The entire province has established and maintained 51 "Building Happy Families" clubs, 31 "Women Raising Children Well" clubs, 21 "Child Care and Education" models, and 50 "Leaders of Change" clubs… Through these, women and children are equipped with knowledge about gender equality, skills in preventing and combating violence and abuse, preventing accidents and injuries, drowning, and caring for physical and mental health. At the same time, these models contribute to bringing knowledge about building happy families to the community in a way that is accessible, easy to understand, and easy to maintain.
From March 2026, the Provincial Women's Union will implement the "Monthly Consultation and Support Day for Women Members" activity on the 20th of each month and spread this activity to many local branches. The activity aims to help all levels of the Union listen to, share, accompany, and support women in matters of marriage, family, and life; and at the same time, promptly understand their thoughts, aspirations, suggestions, and proposals to protect the legitimate rights and interests of women members. This approach shows that building happy families is not just about propaganda and mobilization, but requires specific consultation and support, especially when women face difficulties and obstacles.

In the modern era, a happy family is measured not only by material stability but also by equality, safety, respect, and the adaptability of each member. Today, women in Quang Ninh province both preserve traditional family values and actively pursue education, work, apply technology, participate in social activities, and contribute to the community.
