Fifty-one years ago, amidst the powerful offensive of our army and people across the Southern battlefield, the army and people of Da Lat - Tuyen Duc closely coordinated armed struggle and political struggle, combined with propaganda and mass mobilization activities within the city, causing the Saigon government apparatus to become weak, confused, and quickly disintegrate.
Local revolutionary forces proactively assessed the situation and protected almost entirely important facilities, documents, and people's property. During the historic days of April 1975, Da Lat - Lam Dong was completely liberated, making a significant contribution to the historic Spring Victory of 1975, ushering in a new era for the Vietnamese nation - an era of national independence linked with socialism.
Throughout the two wars of resistance, Da Lat was a place where the revolutionary movement was vibrant and continuous, especially since the establishment of the first Party branch. It led the people from all walks of life to achieve many victories, contributing to the nation's glorious and heroic history. In the arduous and fierce battles, 733 martyrs fell, 323 wounded soldiers sacrificed parts of their bodies for their homeland, and more than 1,100 cadres and citizens were captured, tortured, and imprisoned by the enemy. Da Lat was honored with the title of "Heroic City".
Integration and development
Over more than half a century of construction and renovation, Da Lat has continuously risen to become a first-class city directly under the provincial administration, a famous tourist and resort center of the country, and is gradually expanding its reach to the region and internationally. Entering a new phase of development, with the local government organizational model being reformed into a two-tier system, Da Lat has been reorganized into five wards: Xuan Huong, Lam Vien, Cam Ly, Xuan Truong, and Lang Biang.
Lang Biang Ward in Da Lat was formerly part of Lac Duong District. After the merger and renaming to Da Lat, the Party Committee, government, and people of the ward have strived to build the ward into a desirable, green, friendly, and culturally rich destination, contributing to the Da Lat area's development into a renowned tourist urban center nationwide. According to the Ward Party Secretary and Chairwoman of the People's Council, Tran Thi Chuc Quynh, along with the five breakthroughs identified at the first Ward Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, the Ward Party Committee focuses on preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the people of Lang Biang - Da Lat.
Based on that, the Party Committee of Lang Biang ward issued a resolution on this matter to build a comprehensively developed culture and people of Lang Biang - Da Lat, imbued with the values of "Gentleness - Elegance - Hospitality - Compassion," as a solid spiritual foundation and an important internal strength to ensure the rapid and sustainable development of Lang Biang ward - Da Lat, for the goal of a prosperous people, a strong nation, democracy, fairness, and civilization; ready to join the Party Committee, government, and people of Lam Dong province and the whole country in entering a new era, an era of prosperous, thriving, and happy development.
Affirming the Da Lat brand
In the early months of 2026, the socio-economic situation in the wards of Da Lat showed many positive changes, with high-tech agriculture and tourism and services increasingly asserting their leading positions. The Da Lat Cherry Blossom Festival 2026 was successfully organized, attracting thousands of residents and tourists, further affirming the vitality of the "Da Lat - City of Flower Festivals" brand. Environmental protection, urban beautification, and the creation of green, clean, and beautiful landscapes were implemented synchronously; infrastructure development programs, street renovation, drainage systems, and central area beautification were actively carried out, contributing to making the appearance of the wards increasingly more attractive and civilized.
Simultaneously, the socio-cultural sector has received comprehensive attention and care. Social welfare work has been fully implemented, creating consensus and trust among the people. Administrative reform has achieved many positive results, with a 99% rate of timely processing of procedures and a citizen satisfaction rate exceeding 96%. These figures are vivid evidence of the responsibility and efforts of the entire political system in serving the people better and better.
Along with socio-economic development, the work of Party building and strengthening the political system has always received special attention. Party committees in the wards continuously improve their leadership capacity, promote the pioneering and exemplary role of cadres and Party members; continue to vigorously promote the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style; and build an effective and efficient government apparatus that is close to the people, serves the people, and is dedicated to serving the people.
Today, Da Lat is thriving alongside the overall development of Lam Dong province and the entire country. Xuan Huong ward, located in the heart of this tourist city, along with Lam Vien, Cam Ly, Xuan Truong, and Lang Biang wards, has been strongly promoting a spirit of unity, dynamism, and creativity to continue contributing to the overall development of Lam Dong province.
According to the leaders of Xuan Huong ward, Da Lat, in the coming time, the Party Committee and people of Xuan Huong ward, along with other wards in the Da Lat area, will continue to uphold the heroic traditions of their homeland, unite as one, strive to overcome all difficulties, and make good use of development opportunities to build a more prosperous, beautiful, and civilized locality, worthy of being the center of a famous tourist city of the whole country.
In 2014, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 704/QD-TTg approving the adjustment of the General Planning of Da Lat City and its surrounding areas until 2030, with a vision to 2050. Similarly, Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee identified the goal of building Da Lat into a modern, creative city, a center for high-end eco-tourism and resort tourism, a center for cultural and heritage tourism of international stature, a regional center for culture, arts, physical education, sports, and entertainment; and a prominent location for artistic creativity and performance.
