On December 14th, information from the Long An Provincial Department of Construction indicated that there are currently 7 completed social housing projects with over 1,800 apartments in the province. These projects are located in the districts of Duc Hoa, Can Giuoc, and Tan An City.
A social housing project has been built and put into use in Long An province.
In December 2023, investors will commence construction on three more social housing projects in Duc Hoa and Ben Luc districts. Specifically, Duc Hoa district has two projects covering an area of 16 hectares with over 3,000 units. Ben Luc district has one project covering approximately 1 hectare with about 1,000 units.
According to data from the Long An Provincial Department of Construction, in 2023-2024, Long An province will have 14 social housing projects started in the districts of Ben Luc, Duc Hoa, and Can Duoc, covering an area of over 65 hectares and comprising more than 14,600 units.
Specifically, Duc Hoa district has 9 projects with a scale of over 12,000 units; Ben Luc district has 4 projects with approximately 2,500 units; and Can Duoc district has 1 project with a scale of 900 units.
In addition, during the 2024-2025 period, Long An province will continue to implement 19 projects in the districts of Duc Hoa, Ben Luc, Can Duoc, Can Giuoc, Duc Hue, Thu Thua, and Tan Tru, with a total area of over 83 hectares and a scale of approximately 24,400 units. Long An province strives to achieve the government's target of 71,200 social housing units by 2030.
Long An province currently has 37 industrial parks with a total planned area of nearly 13,000 hectares. Of these, 18 industrial parks are already in operation.
The number of workers in industrial parks is approximately 212,000. This is projected to increase to around 305,000 by 2030; therefore, the demand for housing for workers in industrial parks is very high, accounting for about 50% of the current workforce.
Currently, Long An province has 37 industrial parks with a total planned area of nearly 13,000 hectares. Of these, 18 industrial parks are already in operation, with an occupancy rate of over 86%.
The number of workers in industrial zones is approximately 212,000. This is projected to increase to around 305,000 by 2030.
The majority of workers are migrant laborers from other provinces and cities who do not yet own their own homes, so the demand for housing for workers in industrial zones is very high, accounting for approximately 50% of the current workforce.
In addition, Long An currently has approximately 4,800 lodging areas built by households and individuals, comprising about 77,200 lodging units, meeting the needs of over 156,000 workers and laborers in industrial zones and clusters.
