Today, February 10, 2025, rice prices in the Mekong Delta region remained relatively stable, with low market volume, a slight increase in raw rice prices, and an upward trend in paddy prices.


Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region today, February 10, 2025, remained relatively stable. Prices for various types of raw rice edged up slightly, while paddy rice tended to increase compared to the end of last week.

Specifically, regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the current prices are as follows: IR 50404 rice (fresh) ranges from 5,400 - 5,600 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice ranges from 5,800 - 6,000 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) ranges from 6,600 - 6,800 VND/kg; OM 380 rice is at 6,600 - 6,700 VND/kg; OM 18 rice (fresh) ranges from 7,600 - 7,800 VND/kg; Nhat rice is at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; and Nang Hoa 9 rice is at 9,200 VND/kg.

Observations in many localities today show a fairly high volume of rice transactions. In Can Tho , the winter-spring rice crop is being traded more frequently, with traders mainly buying fragrant rice, and prices have increased slightly, while other varieties maintain stable prices. In Tien Giang, winter-spring rice trading is sporadic, and rice prices are high.

In Dong Thap, trading in the winter-spring rice crop is slow, with prices remaining stable, although some rice fields are seeing slight increases. In Kien Giang, farmers are offering stable prices for all types of rice, with fragrant rice doing better than other varieties, and more transactions being finalized than at the end of the week. In An Giang , rice prices remained stable at the beginning of the week, with some sporadic buying and selling activity.

Similarly, regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the price of raw 5451 rice has increased by 100 VND, fluctuating between 8,850 and 9,050 VND/kg; raw OM 380 rice has increased by 200 VND, fluctuating between 7,400 and 7,600 VND/kg compared to yesterday; finished OM 380 rice is fluctuating between 8,800 and 9,000 VND/kg; raw IR 504 rice is fluctuating between 7,700 and 7,800 VND/kg; and finished IR 504 rice is fluctuating between 9,500 and 9,700 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, prices range from approximately 5,200 to 7,300 VND/kg. Currently, broken rice is priced at 7,100 - 7,300 VND/kg; broken rice (grades 3-4) is priced at 5,600 - 5,800 VND/kg; and dry rice bran has increased by 50 VND, ranging from 5,200 - 5,350 VND/kg compared to the end of last week.

Observations in various localities today show that rice supplies are arriving sporadically, and buying and selling activities are more active. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), prices of high-quality raw rice have increased slightly. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), supplies are low, fragrant rice is scarce, and prices of all types of rice have increased.

At Sa Dec market (Dong Thap province), the supply is steady, and the prices of various types of rice remain stable. In An Cu (Cai Be district, Tien Giang province), the supply is also steady, and prices edged up at the beginning of the week.

At retail markets, prices for various types of rice remained unchanged compared to the weekend. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price at 28,000 VND/kg; regular rice ranges from 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice is 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice ranges from 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 17,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 22,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 21,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice ranges from 18,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 21,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.

On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained unchanged today compared to the end of last week. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price for 5% broken rice is $399/ton; 25% broken rice is $371/ton; and 100% broken rice is $313/ton.
