The year opens a new path

According to China Daily , the dragon represents power, charisma, and leadership. So if you want to take advantage of the opportunities of the Year of the Dragon, aim to be the driving force to close gaps and open up new directions. For example, the Year of the Dragon may be a year to reconnect with long-lost relatives, reconcile with roommates and co-workers, or seek to understand and reason with people who have different views. In the process, always maintain a leadership role and create new beginnings.

The wood element, combined with the year of the dragon, promises to bring exploration, creativity, adaptability, and spiritual growth. The dragon is a call to step out of your comfort zone and be ready for new adventures. The road ahead may be risky, but the rewards are worth it.

With the energy of the Year of the Dragon, feng shui experts say this is a great year for everyone to embrace creativity. Be bold and bring your own unique touch to your work, relationships, or even your hobbies. The legendary dragon is not shy or hesitant to share his ideas with others, and neither are you. So, feel free to let your imagination run wild, explore new places, and unleash your power to push the limits of your thinking.

During this process, always be on the lookout for new opportunities. Dragons love adventure and risk, and the results tend to be positive when paired with the Wood element.

Industries that "have good times" in the year of the Dragon

On the economic front, The Malaysia Reserved reported that the Feng Shui Guide to Prosperity report conducted by Maybank Research Company has recommended that 2024 will be a year of competition, assertiveness and manipulation. In addition, the Year of the Dragon may also witness the risk of new conflicts in the Middle East. "However, things will gradually cool down, allowing optimism to return to the region. The world can expect an upturn in the third quarter of this year," according to the report.

The report also reflects the opinion of Feng Shui Master Ken Koh, founder and chief advisor of House of Feng Shui (Singapore) since 1997 and publisher of the Chinese Almanac on auspicious dates. Accordingly, Master Koh believes that the dominant element of wood in 2024 will bring good luck to the technology industry related to the element of metal.

“Industries expected to thrive in the Year of the Dragon include banking, machinery, mining, automobile manufacturing (including electric cars and luxury cars), private jets, computer hardware and military equipment. Other sectors that will benefit include beauty products and services, cosmetic treatments, jewelry, luxury brands, expensive watches and coinage,” said Mr Koh.

Regarding the earth-related industries, the report also forecasts a positive shift in this group of industries. The first is the industry related to business activities in the field of real estate, real estate management funds, data storage and human resources. The second is the group related to crops, urban agriculture, plant-based foods, recycling, waste management and home-based businesses.

"Despite rising interest rates and inflationary costs, the land-related sectors have demonstrated resilience and continue to build new foundations. In 2024, when interest rates are expected to fall and financial management improves, the two sectors will receive good support, especially real estate, which will turn for the better," Maybank's report analyzed.
