Promoting safe and economical electricity usage.

Flexible operation

During the 2026 dry season, the weather is predicted to remain complex, with prolonged heatwaves, leading to increased electricity demand, especially during peak months. In response to this situation, Hue Power Company has proactively developed operational plans and implemented a comprehensive range of solutions to ensure electricity supply under all circumstances.

According to Mr. Nguyen Dai Phuc, Director of Hue Power Company, proactively inspecting and early detecting potential incidents on the power grid is a key factor in ensuring the safe and stable operation of the system. The company recognizes that it must be one step ahead, thoroughly addressing existing problems from the outset, preventing incidents from occurring during periods of high load demand.

Currently, the relevant units have conducted comprehensive inspections of the medium and low voltage power grid, focusing on power lines and substations at risk of overload, and areas with rapid load growth. In many new residential areas and service areas in My Thuong, Thuan An, Thanh Thuy wards, etc., the responsible units have intensified inspections, promptly detecting and addressing contact points showing signs of overheating.

Mr. Nguyen Dai Phuc shared: “Thanks to the application of thermal cameras and drones, staff at the management teams can detect early abnormalities on the power grid that are difficult to see with the naked eye. Many locations with a risk of incidents are addressed before power outages occur, contributing to ensuring stable power supply during peak hours.”

Along with inspection work, Hue Power Company focuses on cleaning insulators and repairing the power grid using the hotline method (repairs without cutting off power). On many central roads, such as Pham Van Dong, Hung Vuong, Nguyen Tat Thanh..., working groups have carried out cleaning of insulators and addressing defects on medium-voltage lines without cutting off power, ensuring that people's daily lives and production and business activities are not interrupted.

In operation, units closely monitor the load situation of each feeder and substation, especially during peak hours. Accordingly, they implement technical solutions such as phase balancing, load shifting, load switching between lines, increasing transformer capacity, and adjusting the grid connection appropriately.

Intensify inspections of the route corridor before the start of the dry season.

For the 110kV and medium-voltage power grids, Hue Power Company (PC Hue) has enhanced operational monitoring through the SCADA system, allowing for flexible and precise remote monitoring and control. Prioritizing remote operation helps shorten incident response time while ensuring worker safety. Detailed operational plans have also been developed for each scenario, ready to respond when incidents occur and ensuring the fastest possible power restoration.

In addition, attention is paid to ensuring electrical safety and preventing fires and explosions during the dry season. In areas near forests, the responsible teams have coordinated with local authorities to strengthen inspections of power line corridors, address trees violating safe distances, and minimize the risk of fires and explosions; at the same time, they have intensified propaganda to help people raise awareness of safe and economical electricity use.

Proactively manage resources and effectively regulate load.

Currently, Hue Power Company (PC Hue) is focusing on preparing resources to be ready to respond to situations arising during the peak season. The company's deployment plans are developed according to the "four on-site" principle, ensuring quick handling of incidents on the power grid system. PC Hue has reviewed and supplemented spare parts and equipment; prepared sufficient vehicles and fuel; and deployed personnel for operation and repair of the power grid 24/7.

Task forces are assigned to specific areas, ensuring that in the event of an incident, they can quickly access the scene and deploy timely response measures. In the former Phong Dien town and surrounding areas, where many power lines run through residential areas interspersed with hills and mountains, the responsible teams maintain an increased on-call duty schedule during peak hot weather days.

Inspect and repair the power grid system in public areas.

In parallel with the above activities, Hue Power Company strengthened load control and implemented non-commercial demand response (DR) programs, contributing to regulating electricity demand and reducing pressure on the system during peak hours. Several businesses in the area actively cooperated and proactively adjusted their production plans, limiting electricity use during peak hours, thereby contributing to ensuring the stability of the overall power system.

The list of customers with backup power sources has also been updated to be ready for mobilization when needed. Efforts to promote efficient and economical electricity use have been intensified. Electricity officials directly visit residential areas, guiding people on the rational use of electrical appliances and advising them to switch off unnecessary devices during peak hours to reduce pressure on the power system...
