Despite the hectic end-of-year schedule and numerous worries, Giàng A Kha's family decided to slaughter a pig weighing over 100 kilograms and prepare dozens of dishes to treat their neighbors. This wasn't just an ordinary meal, but a celebration for their newly completed house – a milestone marking their first complete Lunar New Year celebration in their resettlement area.

Mr. Kha's house is one of the sturdy, single-story houses built according to the "three solid" criteria (solid foundation, solid frame, solid roof), with an area of about 80 m², covered with heat-insulating and soundproof corrugated iron roofing. With 100 million VND in government support, along with his carefully saved money and help from relatives, his dream house was completed in time, bringing the families their first complete spring in their new home.

Walking along the wide, sturdy concrete road, flanked by newly built houses still faintly smelling of mortar, Mr. Giàng A Sùng couldn't hide his feeling as if he were walking in a dream. It is known that Mr. Sùng's family moved into their new house more than two months ago, and the auxiliary structures such as the kitchen and yard are still under construction. After each day's work, Mr. Sùng immediately starts cleaning to keep the house clean, creating a truly warm and happy space to spend time with his family.
Going back in time to the days when Typhoon No. 10 (Buloi) swept through the area in 2025, according to statistics from Muong Bo commune, the damage was extremely severe: 85 houses were affected, of which 11 completely collapsed, forcing residents to evacuate urgently to ensure safety. Given the urgent situation, on November 10, 2025, a "lightning-fast" campaign began, with Muong Bo commune simultaneously starting construction of 11 resettlement houses for the most severely affected households.
New housing is just the first step. To ensure that people receive truly comfortable and prosperous resettlement in their new homes, the livelihood issue has been prioritized by the Muong Bo commune government. According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tri, Chairman of the Muong Bo Commune People's Committee, the local government is striving to diversify production models and create sustainable livelihoods so that people not only have safe housing but also aim for a stable, prosperous, and happy life.
The shift from traditional farming to high-value crops and livestock such as shiitake mushrooms and ginger promises to bring a new look to the household economy in the resettlement area.

Walking around the Nam Mat resettlement area these days, you can see people cleaning their houses and decorating their new homes with vibrant red peach blossoms. Worries about natural disasters are gradually fading away, replaced by faith in the care and concern of the Party and the State.

This spring, the people of Nam Mat are living in secure, sturdy houses, a united community, ready to write a new chapter for the Muong Bo region. The revival of Nam Mat is the clearest evidence of the spirit of "leaving no one behind" in caring for the well-being of the people. This Tet holiday, the meals of the women of Nam Mat will surely be filled with the sweetness of happiness and hope for a better future.
