Many bright spots
Phuong Bac General Hospital is the first private hospital established in the province. After 6 years of construction and development, the hospital has successfully applied many new techniques in medical examination and treatment, and the quality of medical services at the hospital has continuously improved, actively contributing to ensuring the task of caring for and protecting the health of people in the area and surrounding regions.
In addition to investing in human resources, the hospital also focuses on modernizing its facilities, machinery, and equipment, such as: a 256-slice CT scanner, a 1.5 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system, a tissue elastography ultrasound system, biochemical, hematological, immunological, and microbiological testing systems, a hyperbaric oxygen system, an electromyography system… and many other advanced medical equipment systems, helping to accurately diagnose and support treatment. In its six years of construction and development, the hospital has successfully intervened in and provided emergency care for many difficult and complex cases, such as spinal surgery, phaco eye surgery, and infertility treatment surgery.
Northern General Hospital put into use a hyperbaric oxygen chamber system in December 2023.
Professional procedures are strictly established and monitored. In 2023, the hospital invested in installing a modern hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber system. This hyperbaric oxygen chamber system is used to treat conditions such as: stroke, sequelae of cerebrovascular accidents, vestibular disorders, cerebral circulatory disorders, chronic insomnia, tinnitus, hearing loss, slow-healing ulcers, burns, cerebral palsy in children, autism, etc. Importantly, patients receive health insurance benefits as per regulations when visiting and receiving treatment at the hospital, similar to public hospitals.
Evolving from a specialized ENT clinic, after nearly 20 years of development, in December 2023, Hoang Viet General Clinic was licensed by the Ministry of Health to upgrade to Hoang Viet General Hospital. Currently, the hospital has 7 specialized departments and 3 functional rooms, with nearly 300 medical staff. In 2024, the hospital provided medical examination and treatment to nearly 50,000 people, and many complex surgeries were successfully performed at the hospital.
Over the past period, Hoang Viet General Hospital has consistently strived for innovation in its service. The hospital boasts modern and advanced facilities and equipment, along with a team of highly skilled and ethical medical professionals. Medical staff always uphold a spirit of responsibility, creativity, and dedication to the common goal, thereby earning the trust of patients not only within the province but also in neighboring provinces.
Besides private hospitals, the increasing number of privately established multi-specialty clinics has partially addressed the healthcare needs of the people. Many of these clinics have applied advanced techniques and provided a wide range of quality healthcare services, making it easier for people to access medical examination and treatment services.
The Bach Mai Friendship Multi-Specialty Clinic in Tan Yen town (Ham Yen district) was established in 2018. Equipped with modern facilities and staffed by a team of skilled and experienced doctors and medical experts, it provides consultations and offers the most effective and efficient treatment methods. Since its establishment, the Bach Mai Friendship Multi-Specialty Clinic has affirmed its quality and reputation in medical examination and treatment, especially for pregnant women seeking consultations and monitoring of their reproductive health.
Increase the choices available to the people.
The province currently has 208 private medical facilities, including 3 non-public hospitals and the rest being general clinics, specialized clinics, and traditional medicine clinics.
Some private hospitals and polyclinics have invested in modern facilities and equipment, applying high-tech techniques and implementing cutting-edge, specialized techniques such as digital X-ray machines, CT-SCANE machines, MRI machines, anesthesia and ventilation systems, hemodialysis machines, clean operating rooms with filtered air, vascular intervention systems, etc.
The professional staff at private healthcare facilities, especially large-scale hospitals, possess appropriate qualifications and certifications, some of whom are skilled doctors and medical professionals from public hospitals. Many technical services and procedures are simplified, and processing times are fast, building trust with the public and attracting a large number of patients for examination and treatment.
The spirit and attitude of medical staff at non-public healthcare facilities are friendly, enthusiastic, and attentive, satisfying patients. Some non-public hospitals and clinics even invite experts from central hospitals such as K Hospital, Bach Mai Hospital, Hanoi Medical University Hospital... to provide medical examinations and treatment for the people; they also send staff to attend training courses to improve their professional skills and cooperate with central hospitals.
The emergence of private hospitals, polyclinics, and specialized clinics has created competition in terms of quality, service, and attitude between the public and private sectors. The beneficiaries of these achievements are the patients and residents in the province and surrounding areas.
Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Director of the Department of Health, said: Along with supporting and creating conditions for private hospitals to expand their bed capacity, the Department of Health has assigned specialized departments to guide organizations and individuals in registering to open medical examination and treatment services. The focus is on reviewing and guiding businesses to invest in opening new high-quality private hospitals and multi-specialty clinics in districts far from the city center so that all citizens can access modern medical services right where they live.
Private and public healthcare sectors have been coordinating and working together in providing healthcare to the people, contributing to reducing the burden on hospitals and giving people more choices in accessing healthcare services.
