Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen Linh, Director of Tay Bac Cooperative, shared: "Participating in the OCOP program, we have strictly implemented quality control and food safety procedures. At the same time, we have focused on improving production lines and methods, ensuring consistent product quality. Currently, the cooperative has 16 black garlic making machines, including 8 dedicated fermentation machines and 8 drying machines. Each month, the cooperative produces 8 tons of black garlic, selling at 400,000 VND/kg, mainly exported to markets such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Can Tho, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa... Total revenue is 2.5 - 3 billion VND/year."

As a regular customer of Tay Bac Cooperative, Mr. Ban Van Nai from Thao Nguyen ward said: "I specialize in importing products from Tay Bac Cooperative to sell in the Hanoi area. Because the products are OCOP certified and have regional characteristics, they are highly trusted and chosen by customers. The products I sell the most are black garlic, vermicelli, dried mango, and cham cheo (a type of dipping sauce)."

Eggplant is one of the few fresh agricultural products among the OCOP products of Yen Chau commune, produced by the Quyet Thang Na Xanh Agricultural Cooperative. Mr. Lo Van Cuong, Director of the Cooperative, said: "Eggplant thrives in the hot climate of the region, and its price is quite stable, so in recent years, cooperative members have expanded their planting area. Eggplant can be grown twice a year, with multiple harvests per crop. In the first crop of 2025, the cooperative planted 4 hectares of eggplant, yielding 100 tons of fruit and earning over 700 million VND. In early 2025, the cooperative's eggplant product received a 3-star OCOP certification and was supported with product labeling and packaging. The product's quality and transparent information have led to customer acceptance and higher sales than the previous year."

Currently, Yen Chau commune has 16 OCOP products, of which 3 products achieved 4-star OCOP status in the first phase of 2025 (including Diep Bach black garlic, On Oc San Tuyet tea, and Hoshi black garlic), while the remaining products are 3-star OCOP products from the following units: Tay Bac Cooperative, Tuoi Tre 26/3 Cooperative, Bao Gia 26 Limited Liability Company, Quyet Thang Na Xanh Agricultural Cooperative, and the business household of Luong Thi Nhu Hue.

To improve product quality and value, the commune has actively promoted and encouraged cooperatives, units, and businesses to apply science and technology to production and processing to create high-quality products. It has supported units in designing professional packaging and labels that meet food safety standards. Units and businesses are actively building brands and expanding markets, focusing on promoting and introducing products on e-commerce platforms and participating in trade fairs and exhibitions to reach consumers.

Mr. Doan Xuan Ngoc, Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Chau commune, said: The commune continues to promote and encourage cooperatives, units, and businesses to improve the quality of existing OCOP products; select and develop new OCOP products. Attention is given to supporting the development of products based on the application of small- and medium-scale preliminary processing and processing technologies, with a priority on processed and deeply processed products from local specialties and raw materials. The goal is to guide OCOP entities to create differentiation, increase the value of their products, and diversify product sizes and designs to suit consumer tastes and needs… Through this, the commune aims to boost local agricultural development, help people increase their income, and promote the stable and sustainable development of cooperatives and businesses.

Continuing to effectively utilize local agricultural products, Yen Chau commune is developing many new OCOP products, diversifying its product range and improving quality, aiming to affirm the position of Yen Chau agricultural products in domestic and international markets.
