Nguyen Viet Hoang Long was born in 1990 and is a member of the Quang Ninh Provincial Photography Association.

As an electrical engineer working at the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Corporation (TKV), Nguyen Viet Hoang Long initially viewed photography as a habit, a part of his job, often photographing machinery and equipment. Gradually, he developed a passion for photography , wanting to capture as many beautiful moments in life as possible and share them widely with everyone.

Born and raised in Quang Ninh province, home to the world's most beautiful natural wonder, Ha Long Bay, he has always been captivated by the majestic scenery of the landscape. Every day, outside of work, he takes time to create, carefully selecting camera angles to capture many satisfying works. He also enjoys photographing industrial buildings, city architecture, and the daily lives of workers.

He took many photos, capturing precious moments of the beauty of his homeland: "Sunrise at Ha Long Seafood Market," "Shining Bay," "Sunset at the Passenger Terminal," "Chimney Painting in the Mist," "Symphony Under the Sun," "Red Radiance Reaching Out," "Sunlight on the Station Yard," "Electric Current from the Underground"... Hoang Long shared that he is particularly fond of the work "Chimney in the Clouds," a photograph of the Na Duong II Thermal Power Plant in Na Duong commune, Lang Son province; the structure resembles a giant chimney piercing through the clouds, with the bright red national flag fluttering at the top, not only showcasing the scale of the structure but also representing the aspiration for progress of the Vietnamese nation.

Having been involved in photography for many years, and only recently submitting his photos to a competition, he reaped the rewards: his work "Under the Shadow of the National Flag" won first prize at the 2nd National Art Photography Competition and Exhibition "Homeland on the Shore of Waves" in 2025.

Nguyen Viet Hoang Long shared: “Photography brings me balance. While technical work demands precision in numbers and iron discipline, photography makes my life more colorful and inspiring every day. Photography helps me change my perspective, become more patient in waiting for a ray of sunshine, observe small details more closely, and appreciate the value of hard work more.”

Regarding his future plans, he said he will be taking themed photographs showcasing the beauty of the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam.
