Tourism in Sa Pa is steadily growing
In a speech marking the 120th anniversary of Sa Pa tourism, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said: After 120 years of formation and development, Sa Pa tourism has developed significantly. From a small highland town, Sa Pa has advanced and been recognized, placed on Vietnam's and the world's tourist map.\

"In order to have a developed Sa Pa like today, the government and people of Lao Cai ethnic groups in general and Sa Pa in particular have always determined that Sa Pa is not only a key tourist destination of the province for many past terms. but also a national tourist area, reaching an international level. Always focusing on preserving, preserving and promoting unique traditional cultural values, taking natural landscapes and cultural heritage as the driving force; adaptation and dynamism to make breakthroughs to strive towards sustainable green development".

Moving forward on the journey to becoming an international tourism and resort center
Speaking at the Celebration, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha affirmed: From a rugged and pristine mountainous area, it was discovered by the Expedition of the Indochina Geography Department at the end of 1903. Through investment methodically, Sa Pa has become a tourist destination with beautiful, majestic natural scenery, floating in the clouds; The mountains are superb, the rivers are upstream, and the climate is fresh, cool, and diverse. Sa Pa is progressing on its journey to becoming an international resort tourism center, with a diverse and unique tourism product system, a cultural exchange point in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized: The Party and State are and will continue to pay attention to devoting public resources and mobilizing social resources to preserve and promote cultural values and develop cultural space; Complete the infrastructure system, focusing on developing digital utilities towards developing a smart Sa Pa tourism ecosystem.
Along with the completion of the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway project to Sa Pa, Sa Pa Airport and other tourism infrastructure will be prioritized for investment, creating favorable conditions for tourists coming to Sa Pa, promoting socio-economic development and improving people's lives.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that, from another perspective, the development of Sa Pa tourism also creates great pressure on natural resources. If not handled harmoniously, these will be depleted, eroded, and even lost the unique natural and cultural values have created the brand of Sa Pa tourism.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha proposed that in the process of developing Sa Pa tourism, it is necessary to aim for a Sa Pa that develops sustainably, harmoniously and proactively adapts to climate change, prevents natural disasters, and develops goes hand in hand with conservation; considers values, natural landscape, culture, and architectural identity as the core; Sa Pa's ethnic community is both the subject, the target, the driving force and the beneficiary of development results.
Focus on green transformation in tourism, developing types of tourism based on ecosystems; promote indigenous cultural values to promote tourism economy, using tourism economy as the foundation to preserve and promote indigenous cultural values. This is Sa Pa's unique strength and is also the general and inevitable trend of the world.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha suggested that Sa Pa needs to build a civilized, friendly and sustainable tourism environment. Every person in Sa Pa will become a cultural messenger; Every tourist coming to Sa Pa has the responsibility to preserve and protect the environment and landscape because it is the source of life today and tomorrow. "I want us to take action now, starting with the very simple task of when this program ends, let's clean up all the trash together before leaving," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
