28 hours of "quenching thirst" for Chan May-Lang Co

Immediately after the People's Committee of Chan May-Lang Co commune declared a water shortage emergency on June 24th and authorized water extraction from Thua Luu Stone Pond, Hue Water Supply Joint Stock Company (HueWACO) mobilized its workforce to work continuously in three shifts to install the pumping station, D160 pipeline, electrical system, and pressure filter tank for water treatment.

In just 28 hours of construction, from 5 PM on June 24th to 8:30 PM on June 25th, the project was completed and put into operation, 10 hours ahead of schedule. The system adds approximately 1,500-2,000 m³ of raw water per day to the Chan May Water Treatment Plant, fundamentally contributing to overcoming the shortage of clean water in Chan May commune, Lang Co district, during the prolonged heatwave.

This result was achieved thanks to the prompt intervention of HueWACO and the close guidance of city leaders and relevant departments. Within just three days, the Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Hoang Hai Minh, and the Chairman of the People's Committee, Nguyen Khac Toan, personally inspected the site twice, requesting the immediate implementation of urgent solutions to prevent water shortages from affecting people's lives and production and business activities in the area.

Previously, HueWACO had also implemented various emergency solutions such as pumping water from the Loc An Water Treatment Plant with more than 5 booster stations, supplementing approximately 1,700-2,000 m³ of water per day, and supplying water by tanker trucks to hilly and downstream areas.
