The burned 4-storey house was identified as a Swing bar (address at 144 Van Cao).
Exchange with YouthA representative of Ngo Quyen district said that the Swing bar fire had killed 3 female employees and injured 1 female employee. The injured person is being treated at the Vietnam - Tiep Friendship Hospital (Hai Phong City) after jumping from the upper floor of a 4-storey house to the ground. The remaining 3 employees were trapped inside the fire and died later. The victims lived in the districts of Hai An, Duong Kinh and H. Kien Thuy (Hai Phong City).
To identify the victim, the investigating agency must take a sample for DNA testing.
In the immediate future, the People's Committee of Ngo Quyen District deducts funds to support families with injured victims 5 million VND, families with dead victims 10 million VND.
Previously, according to people witnessing at the scene, around 14pm on May 12.5, a fire suddenly broke out on the first floor of a 1-storey house at 4 Van Cao, which was renovated as a bar.
At the time of the fire, there were 4 female employees inside. Because the house did not have stairs or emergency exits, after the fire engulfed the first floor, the female employees ran up to the 1nd and 2rd floors to call for help. One of them jumped from a high floor to the ground, though he was injured, but was lucky to escape; Three others were trapped in the fire.
After receiving the news, the Fire Protection Team of Ngo Quyen District Police deployed forces and vehicles to approach the scene to put out the fire.
By about 16:30 on the same day, the fire was basically under control. However, 3 female employees were found dead.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
