The 4 matches using VAR in round 1 of V-League 2023/2024 are Hai Phong vs HAGL, Thanh Hoa vs Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Hanoi Police Club vs Binh Dinh Club and Nam Dinh Club vs Quang Nam .

Previously, VPF Company submitted a report on the plan to use VAR to FIFA and was approved. In the next rounds, the tournament organizers continued to deploy VAR based on FIFA's approval through the evaluation report and VPF's proposal.

Currently, VPF has 2 VAR vehicles. Each round will have 4 matches applying VAR. These matches are in the area from Ha Tinh Stadium onwards because there are 8 teams here. After FIFA sponsors 2 more VAR vehicles, VPF will calculate so that all matches will be supported by VAR.

VAR will be applied to 4 matches in round 1 of V-League 2023/2024.

According to information from VPF, in the 3 seasons starting from the 2023/2024 season, all matches with VAR will be approved by FIFA. Operational data and refereeing in matches with VAR must be sent to FIFA to evaluate the effectiveness of the organization during this period.

VPF, VFF and FIFA have trained 18 licensed VAR referees and assistant referees. All preparations for VAR, from equipment to personnel and coordination with clubs and television production units, have been agreed upon.

The official opening match of the tournament on October 20 between Hai Phong Club and HAGL marks the milestone of VAR being officially applied in the first match of the 2023/2024 season.

Regarding the fact that Quang Nam Club's home field does not meet standards, VPF confirmed that Quang Nam will choose Hoa Xuan Stadium (Da Nang) as their home field for the next period. VPF conducted a survey of the stadiums, based on professional football regulations and licensing regulations, Quang Nam Club's Tam Ky Stadium does not meet standards. VPF discussed this many times and the club has taken measures to handle it.
