Ms. Tran Thi Linh (49 years old) revealed that her five sisters own five different restaurants in District 11 (Ho Chi Minh City), all following the "seven days, seven dishes" style, but with a unified menu to ensure uniqueness.
The whole family sells together.
At around 10 a.m., I visited the shop owned by Mrs. Linh (49 years old), located on Ha Ton Quyen Street (District 11), because at this time, the owner had just finished preparing everything and was ready to welcome customers.
Mrs. Linh's restaurant sells seven different dishes every seven days.
For decades, this eatery has been famous for serving a different dish each day of the week, ensuring no two days are the same. Upon arrival, I immediately noticed the menu clearly displayed at the front of the restaurant.
Accordingly, the restaurant's weekly menu is as follows: Monday: yellow rice noodles; Tuesday: crab noodle soup; Wednesday: fermented fish noodle soup; Thursday: crab noodle soup; Friday: beef and pork noodle soup; Saturday: braised duck noodles; Sunday: duck curry. When I visited, a Thursday, the restaurant smelled wonderfully of crab noodle soup.
Since opening, customers have been coming regularly. Everyone seems quite familiar with the menu, so there's no need to ask too many questions. Mrs. Linh, along with her husband, daughter-in-law, and son-in-law, divide the tasks among themselves to ensure customers don't have to wait long.
The ingredients are fresh and delicious.
The owner said that at the age of 17, she moved from her hometown in Quang Ngai to Ho Chi Minh City. Finding that she was suited to the food selling business, she decided to open a food stall hoping to make a living in this bustling city.
Over time, from a small food stall, Ms. Linh has developed it into the spacious restaurant it is today. Not only that, the owner also mentioned that many of her sisters have moved to Ho Chi Minh City to live and open "7 Days, 7 Dishes" restaurants; however, they all divide the business among themselves to ensure no one's dishes are the same as anyone else's.
In the past, only Mrs. Linh ran the eatery. But for many years now, her husband has also helped her out. Currently, their son-in-law and daughter-in-law also help them run the business, while their two biological children have other jobs.
There's no secret, but customers still love it.
The prices of dishes at Mrs. Linh's restaurant range from 35,000 to 70,000 VND depending on the type. The special crab noodle soup she's selling today, with a whole crab, costs 150,000 VND. When asked about her secret, the owner smiled and said she cooks it the same way everyone else does.
A portion of banh canh (Vietnamese noodle soup) costs 35,000 VND at the restaurant.

"There's nothing special about it; I cook and season like everyone else to make the food flavorful and just right. But I believe that when you cook with your heart, the dish will be delicious. When you put your heart and effort into it, customers will feel it. All the ingredients I use are fresh and delicious!" the owner revealed.
When buying two portions of crab noodle soup to take away, which included two crabs and cost 300,000 VND, Ms. Hong (56 years old, residing in District 5) said she is a regular customer of this restaurant. Of the current menu items, her favorites are the crab noodle soup and the duck curry sold on weekends.
"I often crave it, but I have to wait for the right day to come here to buy it. This lady cooks it well, it suits my taste. I've probably been eating here for 5-6 years. Before, the shop was in the alley next door, selling at 12 noon, but since moving here, they sell earlier, at 10 am. I'm addicted, I can't give it up," the customer said with a smile.
The restaurant is located at 223 Ha Ton Quyen Street (District 11).
I ordered a full bowl of crab noodle soup for 35,000 VND at Mrs. Linh's restaurant to try. It was delicious! The combination of chewy noodles with pork trotters, shrimp, fish cake, and a thick, flavorful broth, topped with a sprinkle of onions and pepper for extra aroma, deserves an 8/10 rating.
Every day, the owner's joy comes from cooking a new dish, satisfying both regular and new customers. Many customers, including myself, no longer worry about the question, "What should we eat today?", since discovering Mrs. Linh's restaurant...
Ms. Tran Thi Hong (42 years old), Ms. Linh's younger sister, also runs a restaurant called "7 Days, 7 Dishes" in an alley on Le Thanh Thang Street (District 11), not far from her sister's place.
“I’m the 11th sister, and besides me, there’s my 8th sister (Ms. Tran Thi Linh - PV), my 9th, 10th, and 12th sisters who came from Quang Ngai to sell food and drinks like this for decades. My sisters and I are very close and love each other very much. We divide up the selling hours and the dishes so that no one else sells the same thing. Many customers eat up all the food from all five of our shops,” the owner said. That’s why Ms. Hong’s shop only sells during the morning hours, from a little after 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
The menu at the restaurant is similar to Ms. Linh's, but with some modifications to avoid duplication with the other women's restaurants.
