According to leaked information, Apple will add a completely new high-end model to the iPhone 17 lineup in 2025. Therefore, this year could be the time for Apple to launch its most groundbreaking "Pro Max" version ever – an iPhone 16 version that surpasses other versions in both size and performance.

Larger size
According to multiple sources, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will increase in size, potentially becoming Apple's largest iPhone to date. The device will be taller and wider than the iPhone 15 Pro Max released last year.
While the thickness will remain the same, the weight of the iPhone 16 Pro Max will increase slightly compared to the 15 Pro Max due to its larger size.

If this information is accurate, this would be the first increase in iPhone size since the iPhone 12 series. However, this might not necessarily please everyone, especially those who prefer a smaller, more compact iPhone.
Larger screen and ultra-thin bezels
Larger devices typically come with larger screens. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is rumored to have a 6.9-inch display, compared to the 6.7-inch screen of last year's iPhone 15 Pro Max. But Apple isn't simply increasing the screen size to provide a better viewing experience.

For the iPhone 16 Pro models launching this year, Apple is reportedly using Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology, which allows for a more compact and efficient placement of the circuit board under the screen, resulting in even thinner bezels.
Last year, Apple narrowed the bezels on the iPhone 15 Pro models by using LIPO (low-pressure injection molding) technology, reducing the bezel size to 1.5 mm (compared to approximately 2.2 mm on the iPhone 14 models).
Larger camera
The iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to have a more advanced main camera, with a 12% larger size, featuring a custom 48MP Sony IMX903 sensor with a stacked design for better performance.

It also features a 14-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) for high-quality image data conversion and Digital Gain Control (DCG) technology for improved dynamic range and noise reduction.
Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is also rumored to have a 48MP Ultra Wide camera, an upgrade from the 12MP lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Longer battery life
According to TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will use a higher energy density battery for the iPhone 16 Pro Max, resulting in longer battery life, even if the battery size remains the same as on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Initial leaks suggest that both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models will utilize stacked battery technology, offering higher capacity and longer battery life.
Meanwhile, according to another source, this year's iPhone 16 Pro Max will have an even longer battery life of over 30 hours. For comparison, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a battery life of 29 hours.
Larger storage capacity
According to a source from South Korea, Apple's upcoming iPhone 16 Pro models will have a maximum storage capacity of 2TB, matching that of the iPad Pro.
The reason is that Apple is rumored to be switching to higher-density Quad-Level Cell (QLC NAND) flash memory for its larger storage capacity versions.
Using QLC NAND could allow Apple to integrate more memory into a smaller space at a lower cost compared to the TLC NAND memory currently used in iPhones.
The iPhone 16 series is expected to be unveiled by Apple in September. Notably, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature significant camera upgrades, support for Wi-Fi 7 and 5G Advance, and a graphene-based cooling system. The two high-end iPhones are expected to use the A18 Pro processor, while the two standard versions will use the A18 chip with some downgrades.
According to MacRumors , the new iPhone will support AI generative technology, allowing users to interact with chatbots or create images using text directly on their phone.
