The program features the participation of folk artisans from Hung Yen and Hanoi , and this activity is aimed at the "Celebrating the Year of the Horse: The Colors of Hung Yen Culture" program of the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, which will take place on the 5th and 6th days of Tet (February 21 & 22, 2026).
At the program, the public had the opportunity to interact with and learn about unique folk cultural practices through activities by artisans from Hung Yen province, such as: erecting the New Year's pole - a traditional ritual signifying the warding off of evil spirits and the prayer for peace and good fortune in the new year; performing the Bong dance - a unique folk dance associated with religious activities and traditional festivals in the Northern Delta region; and singing the Da Trach drum song - a type of call-and-response folk song deeply rooted in folk culture, reflecting the rich spiritual life of agricultural communities in the Red River Delta. Through direct interaction, performances, and exchanges, visitors had the chance to learn about the meaning and cultural value of folk practices in contemporary life.
The program offers a diverse range of experiences with many familiar activities during the traditional Tet holiday, such as calligraphy, clay modeling, painting the 12 zodiac animals, Dong Ho folk painting, and traditional banh chung (rice cake) making. These activities not only help the public, especially children, understand more about aesthetic values, handicraft skills, and folk knowledge, but also contribute to nurturing love for traditional culture and creating moments of togetherness and family bonding at the beginning of the year.
