According to Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has invited several international delegations to attend, including six high-level delegations representing Cuba, Laos, Cambodia, Belarus, Russia, and China, who will participate in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day on September 2nd.
Some delegations will conduct bilateral activities. In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received confirmation from more than 20 delegations representing the leaders of various countries. Regarding defense, eight delegations from the Ministries of Defense of different countries will attend the commemoration ceremony.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited a number of international journalists who are sympathetic to and interested in Vietnam. We also organized a series of programs not only to allow foreign journalists to cover the grand ceremony but also to let them witness firsthand the achievements of our people to the international community," Ms. Hang said.
Besides high-ranking delegations from political parties, defense, diplomacy, and foreign journalists, there is also a group from the Union of Friendship Organizations inviting international friends who have supported Vietnam over the past 80 years. To date, nearly 100 delegates from this group will attend the grand ceremony.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs invites diplomatic delegations, ambassadors, representatives of embassies, international organizations, and consuls general of countries to attend the A80 event.
For the first time, there was a parade of overseas Vietnamese delegations.
Notably, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that, for the first time in the 80 years since the founding of the nation, overseas Vietnamese have had their own parade contingent. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a delegation of exemplary overseas Vietnamese from various countries to participate in the grand ceremony. Among them, 50 overseas Vietnamese are currently participating in training to take part in the military parade and procession.
"Despite the time zone change and the weather, the atmosphere of camaraderie with people back home made everyone forget their fatigue. This is an honor, a source of pride, and a responsibility for Vietnamese people living far from their homeland to be selected as representatives for the parade," Ms. Hang informed.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will organize training courses for overseas Vietnamese associations and groups to update them on the situation in the country, train them in some skills related to organizing associations and groups to foster cohesion; and invite them to participate in events within the framework of the September 2nd celebrations. Some exemplary overseas Vietnamese will attend the national reception and participate in the art program at My Dinh Stadium.
Regarding the organization of activities for international guests, Ms. Hang shared: "The activities proceeded smoothly, according to the plan. On this occasion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is proposing to the Party and State leaders to hold a reception to express gratitude to international friends who have contributed to the cause of national liberation, building and protecting the Fatherland."
