9 remedies using pineapple

Pineapple has a sweet and sour taste, is neutral in nature (neither hot nor cold, neither leaning towards cold nor hot); it acts on the Lung and Large Intestine meridians; it has the effects of clearing heat, relieving heatstroke, quenching thirst, aiding digestion, stimulating appetite, promoting urination, stopping diarrhea, and lubricating the bowels; it can be used to combat heatstroke, treat indigestion, bronchitis, nephritis, loss of appetite, etc.

1. Medicinal remedies from the pineapple plant.

1. To cool down, quench thirst, and protect against sunstroke: Peel one pineapple, squeeze out the juice, add cold boiled water and drink; or chill it before drinking for an even better taste.

2. For fever: Crush 100g of young pineapple pulp, add water, filter to extract the juice, or boil it to make a decoction and drink.

3. For heatstroke, vomiting, and diarrhea in summer: Boil 60g of pineapple leaves or roots in water and drink the decoction.

4. Difficulty urinating, ureteral stones: Boil 60g of pineapple root in water and drink the decoction.

5. Supporting treatment for nephritis: 60g of pineapple pulp, 30g of fresh cogon grass roots; decoct with water and drink twice a day.

6. Bronchitis: 120g of pineapple pulp, 50g of fresh cogon grass roots, 30g of honey; decoct with water, divide into two doses and drink during the day.

7. High blood pressure: Eat fresh pineapple daily, or drink pineapple juice, or eat canned pineapple.

8. Poor digestion, loss of appetite: Peel and juice a pineapple, drink 100ml at a time; or have a few slices of pineapple as a dessert after each meal.

9. Treating kidney stones: Take a ripe pineapple, wash it thoroughly, leave the peel on, and make a small finger-sized hole at the stem. Crush about 6g of alum and stuff it into the hole. Use the pineapple piece you just cut out as a "lid." Bake the pineapple on a stove, in an oven, or in an air fryer until the peel is slightly charred and the pineapple is soft. Let it cool, then squeeze out the juice and drink it, discarding the pulp.

Pineapple is a nutritious fruit; however, modern studies show that it contains three substances that can cause allergies:

Pineapple contains a glucoside that has a strong irritant effect on the mucous membranes of the mouth and esophagus; when eating too much pineapple, one often feels a burning, tingling, and itching sensation in the mouth, tongue, and throat.

After eating pineapple, 15-60 minutes or longer, they may suddenly experience abdominal cramps, aching pain, nausea, hives, skin redness, itching, numbness in the hands, feet, and lips...

- Besides, pineapple Pineapples contain serotonin (hydroxytryptamine), an organic compound that causes strong vasoconstriction, leading to increased blood pressure. Therefore, eating too much pineapple can cause high blood pressure, headaches, dizziness, etc.

Therefore, People with allergies, or even those without allergies, may experience adverse health reactions if pineapple is consumed improperly. To avoid allergies and other adverse reactions, people with high blood pressure, stomach ulcers, or excess gastric acid should limit their pineapple intake; those with allergies should ideally avoid pineapple altogether.
