These fake applications often have the same interface as official applications of the Government, General Department of Taxation, Insurance Agency, VNeID, etc.
How fraud is carried out by subjects:
– Contact customers by calling, texting, making friends via social networks (Zalo, Facebook,...) to provide guidance on updating tax declaration information, support tax finalization, etc.
– Recommend people download and install the application via link or files with the *.apk extension on phones using the Android operating system.
– After installation, the fake application requests permission to access the phone (such as viewing, controlling the screen, using contacts, images, messages, etc.) and performing interactive actions on the screen. without requiring action from the mobile device owner.
Installing fake applications leads to the risk of customers' bank account information, passwords, and OTPs being stolen. Fraudsters can use this information to appropriate money from customers' bank accounts.
