On September 3, 1960, in Hanoi , President Ho Chi Minh conducted the orchestra, choir, and the people of the capital city in singing the song of unity to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and the Third National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. With that significance, on September 26, 2014, the Prime Minister issued a decision designating September 3rd as Vietnam Music Day.

Speaking at the "Love Songs of Ca Mau" art performance, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province, Tieu Minh Tien, emphasized: "In social life, music is of paramount importance. It is 'spiritual nourishment' for the public, contributing to the education of the younger generation, encouraging and motivating the entire nation to unite and strive to build and protect the Fatherland. Music also affirms its role through the ups and downs of history and the development process of our homeland and country. As affirmed by musician Duc Trinh, President of the Vietnam Music Association: 'When music is played, it erases all language boundaries, eliminates hatred, and wherever there is music, there is the spread of love.'"

The Music Branch of the Ca Mau Provincial Association of Literature and Arts currently has 29 active members who regularly produce new works, contributing to the local and national music scene. From 2023 to the present, more than 40 new songs have been composed, winning 2 national music awards and numerous provincial and regional music awards. Generations of Ca Mau musicians have made significant contributions throughout the periods of struggle, construction, and development of their homeland. Many musicians have dedicated their entire lives, leaving behind works closely associated with the land and people of Ca Mau. We cannot forget the pioneering musicians such as: Le Luong, Le Quang Phong, Thanh Truc, Thanh Tran, Thanh Hoa, Thanh Tam, Le Hoang Buu… and those musicians who composed about Ca Mau, contributing many songs that touched people's hearts, resonating in the memories and souls of the people of Ca Mau, such as "Returning to the Cape" by musician Hoang Hiep, "Romantic Ca Mau" by Pham Minh Tuan, "In the Homeland of Minh Hai" by musician Phan Nhan, "Sending to the End of the Land" by Vu Duc Sao Bien, "Gentle Ca Mau" by musician Hoang Buu…

Vietnamese Music Day is not only an occasion to honor the achievements and contributions of generations of musicians, singers, and performing artists, but also a chance to look back together at the development of Vietnamese music in general, and musical activities in Ca Mau province in particular.
