The Long Sap International Border Gate Border Guard Station is responsible for managing and protecting over 31 km of border, 22 villages inhabited by 6 ethnic groups, a vast area with many highland villages, difficult transportation, and a still impoverished living environment for the people. Besides maintaining a ready-to-fight force to safeguard security, order, and national border sovereignty, the unit has coordinated with local Party committees, authorities, and organizations to carry out many activities to care for the people in the border region during Tet (Lunar New Year). In the period leading up to Tet, the unit organized the "Spring Border Guard: Warming the Hearts of the Villagers" program, providing free medical examinations and medication to over 400 people; and donating 60 gift packages (each worth 500,000 VND in cash and gifts) supported by Hanoi Medical University Hospital. At the same time, gifts from Comrade Tong Thi Phong, former member of the Politburo , former Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, and former Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, including essential goods and 10 million VND in cash, were delivered to the "adopted children" of the Border Guard Post, students, policy beneficiary families, and families with particularly difficult circumstances.

Meanwhile, in the border commune of Phiêng Pằn, the spring atmosphere in the border region is even more vibrant thanks to the joint efforts of the local youth. The commune's Youth Union mobilized 55 members, in coordination with the Border Guard, to organize 5 sessions of making banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), clean up 70 km of village roads and 11 cultural centers, along with many cultural and artistic exchange activities, creating a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere during the Tet holiday. This contributes to strengthening the bond between the military and the people, and spreading the spirit of solidarity in the border area.
Joining hands with all levels, sectors, and localities to care for the people in border areas during Tet (Lunar New Year), the Provincial Red Cross Society coordinated with the Border Guard force and local authorities to mobilize social resources and organize the "Compassionate Tet" program in Chieng Khoong border commune. At the program, the Society distributed 600 Tet gifts to poor households, families of policy beneficiaries, and people in difficult circumstances; simultaneously, it organized 10 "zero-cost" stalls selling essential goods; and collaborated with the military medical unit of the Muong Cai Border Guard Post to provide free health check-ups and consultations for 300 people, with a total value of over 400 million VND, contributing to a warm and fulfilling Tet celebration for the people.

For people in border areas, Tet (Lunar New Year) is made even more complete by the timely care and sharing from the community. During this time, many practical activities are organized by various levels of government and organizations to support border regions, such as: the Provincial Women's Union implementing the "Accompanying Border Women" program, visiting and giving Tet gifts, warm clothes, and essential goods to poor women, children, and families receiving preferential treatment; and working groups and social organizations also joining hands to support and help people in border areas celebrate Tet...
The concrete and practical actions of Party committees, government agencies, mass organizations, and benevolent individuals from all over the country are bringing a warm and fulfilling Tet holiday to people in mountainous and border areas, helping them feel secure in their villages and contributing to maintaining national sovereignty and border security.
