Not long ago, the group of artists including Phuong Thanh, saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan, Quoc Dai, Ai Phuong, Ngoc Linh… deeply moved the audience at an unnamed "concert" held on a small courtyard located between Field Hospitals No. 3 and No. 6 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports has directed the Ho Chi Minh City Light Music Center to implement a series of cultural and psychological counseling programs on COVID-19 prevention and control under the theme "Songs of Unity" to serve audiences in quarantine zones and field hospitals. In this program, in addition to health and psychological counseling for patients by doctors, the musical performances serve as a remedy to heal emotional wounds.

This is no exaggeration, as Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tam (Fighting Field Hospital No. 1 for Covid-19 patients - Ho Chi Minh City) shared: "The patients here are very stressed. We are very happy that the artists brought their singing here. I hope that meaningful programs like this will be replicated in other hospitals." Perhaps nothing is more humane and meaningful than when doctors - those on the front lines of the fight against the epidemic who are gradually becoming exhausted and at times truly tired - use their singing to dispel the anxieties that surround them.
The performances on these "special stages" weren't up to standard because the artists performed behind masks and the sound system was a portable loudspeaker. However, that didn't matter, as listeners not only enjoyed the song but also felt the singer's heartfelt emotions. Not only those in quarantine zones, field hospitals, and medical staff, but also those fortunate enough to be at home felt relieved, their mental burdens lessened, and their worries temporarily subsided upon hearing these special performances.
"Music is a quick and easy way to spread positive energy. The message of music is invisible, and the power of music is also invisible but strong, penetrating deep into the consciousness and spreading widely," - musician Vo Thien Thanh observed.
