According to DDNews, India and Nepal held their annual three-day bilateral coordination talks from November 6-8 in New Delhi, chaired by the Director General of the Indian Border Security Force (SSB), Rashmi Shukla, and the Inspector General of the Nepalese Armed Police Force (APF), Raju Aryal.
The Indian side stated that the purpose of the talks was to enhance coordination between the two border guard forces to more effectively manage the open, unbarricaded India-Nepal border. The focus of the talks was to develop effective mechanisms for cooperation in combating cross-border crime and to facilitate the rapid exchange of critical information between the forces. Annual talks on joint border protection have been held alternately in India and Nepal since 2012.
