Safety - positioning Vietnam's "soft brand"

More than 1,800 delegates from over 30 countries, including more than 500 CEOs and leaders of international organizations, gathered in Ho Chi Minh City for the Autumn Economic Forum 2025. Beyond the dense discussions on green transformation, digital transformation, rebuilding supply chains or global capital flows, this forum sent a particularly important message: Vietnam is emerging as a safe, stable and trustworthy destination for global corporations to dialogue, cooperate and expand investment.

In the context of instability, geopolitical conflicts in many regions of the world, supply chain disruptions and increasing non-traditional security risks, the fact that the largest-ever economic forum was held in a complete and safe manner in Vietnam is not only a success in terms of organization and management but also a convincing demonstration of the image of a peaceful country with a stable political and social environment.

That is the “brand” that Vietnam has been steadily building for decades. It is this foundation that allows Vietnam to become a place to host regional and world- level events in safe and smooth conditions.

During the 3 days of the forum, thousands of delegates moved, worked, and connected in many different conference, dialogue, and field survey spaces. There, people witnessed the smooth coordination between central and local agencies, between the state apparatus and the business community, between technical and logistical forces and international delegations. All activities took place in an orderly, smooth, and standard manner of a safe destination but not "closed", not creating a feeling of constraint - a factor that global investors especially value.

In recent years, Vietnam’s foreign direct investment (FDI) disbursement has continuously increased, maintaining its leading position in the region. Many large corporations from Europe, the US, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore have identified Vietnam as a key destination in their global strategy.

When deciding to locate a manufacturing plant, research and development (R&D) center or restructure the supply chain, the first question that investors always ask is: “Is that destination safe, stable and predictable?”. The strong presence of more than 1,800 delegates, including hundreds of senior leaders from technology, finance, energy, creative industry corporations, etc. is the clearest and most convincing answer.

At this year's forum, the direct dialogue between the Prime Minister and the leaders of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and 500 global CEOs once again affirmed Vietnam's position and role. The message emphasized is not only that Vietnam is ready to welcome new investment capital, but more importantly, that Vietnam is a reliable partner, a responsible member and a fulcrum for dialogue between countries and businesses in the world's profound transformation period. A safe destination today is not only understood as "no violence or conflict", but is a place where capital flows, goods flows, and data flows operate within a transparent, stable legal framework and are guaranteed by trust.

Ho Chi Minh City - the host of the forum - is also a living proof of that "safety brand". As the most populous city in the country, home to a dense concentration of private enterprises, FDI enterprises, financial institutions, logistics and technology centers, the city cannot maintain its investment attraction without ensuring security, safety and social order.

The successful organization of the Autumn Economic Forum 2025 shows that Ho Chi Minh City is meeting all the conditions of a regional economic and financial center: safe, stable, integrated and dynamic. This is not only an immediate advantage, but also a long-term foundation for the city to continue to play the role of economic locomotive of the whole country.

In a broader view, the Autumn Economic Forum 2025 is not only a foreign-economic event, but also an opportunity for the international community to “verify” Vietnam’s safety brand through practical experience. The safety factor is gradually becoming an important element in the country’s “soft brand”. That is also an important foundation for Vietnam to firmly move forward on the path towards the goal: becoming a developed, high-income, responsible country with an increasingly high position in the international community.
