
Specifically, the Provincial Police are conducting inspections to ensure traffic safety; directing traffic police forces to increase patrols, strictly handle violations, and combine this with raising public awareness through education.
Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Quang Duy, Deputy Head of Tung Dien Traffic Police Station, Provincial Police Traffic Department, said: "To ensure traffic safety during the year-end period, we have deployed forces to patrol 24/7 on the assigned routes. In addition to handling violations, the force also educates and reminds people and vehicle drivers to strictly comply with regulations on traffic safety."
Along with inspection and enforcement, the Provincial Police, in coordination with the Department of Construction, the Provincial Traffic Safety Board, and local authorities, are reviewing and promptly addressing potential accident hotspots to ensure smooth traffic infrastructure.
The Northern Bus Station currently has approximately 63 operating businesses with 45 inter-provincial and intra-provincial bus routes departing daily. Mr. Pham Hong Bon, Deputy Director of the Northern Bus Station, stated: During peak periods, the station management strengthens coordination with bus owners and passenger transport cooperatives to arrange vehicles and drivers ready to serve the travel needs of the people; conducts technical checks before departure, and resolutely prohibits vehicles that do not meet safety standards or lack vehicle tracking equipment from operating.
Currently, the province has 252 businesses, 12 cooperatives, and 63 individual transport businesses with more than 2,240 vehicles. Mr. Pham Tuan Duc, Director of Huong Hoi Co., Ltd. (Huong Hoi Taxi Company), said: Currently, the company has over 40 passenger taxis operating in the province. At the end of the year, the number of passengers using taxi services increases by about 35%. To ensure good management of vehicles in accordance with the law, the company regularly checks the data transmission system via vehicle tracking devices, monitoring the journeys of vehicles 24/7 through the system. At the same time, drivers are instructed not to consume alcohol, maintain safe distances, and control their speed while driving; proactively disseminating information and training on legal regulations to improve understanding, awareness, and compliance with traffic laws.
Mr. Hoang Khanh Du, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction, said: To ensure the safety of passenger transport, the department has developed a plan to ensure traffic safety and organize transportation to serve the travel needs of the people; directed units to strengthen road management and maintenance; coordinated with functional forces to organize traffic and rationally reroute traffic; and prepared remedial measures in case of incidents. At the same time, it directed the establishment of permanent working groups at bus stations during peak days of the holiday; and inspected and monitored compliance with regulations in passenger transport business operations of units, enterprises, and cooperatives.
The coordinated solutions of the authorities, the active cooperation of transportation units, and the management boards of bus stations have made and continue to make a significant contribution to ensuring convenient and safe travel for the people.
