Located at an altitude of over 1,000m, Xa Phin village in Thanh Thuy commune is home to 54 households, all of whom are Dao ethnic people. It has long been affectionately called the "mossy village" by tourists because of its dozens of stilt houses with thatched palm roofs, covered in the patina of time.

The year-round cool, humid climate and dense fog create ideal conditions for moss to cling to the roofs, gradually developing into soft green carpets. Some thatched roofs, 20-30 years old, are covered in thick moss, interspersed with clumps of wild orchids, creating a beauty rarely found elsewhere.

Over the years, the roofs have become friends with the wind and rain, intertwined with green moss, becoming a unique feature of the village.
