Approximately 36,000 sunflower plants have been planted along the Saigon River embankment in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area (Thu Duc City). The sunflower garden is expected to bloom in two phases: the first during the 2024 New Year's Day and the second during the 2024 Lunar New Year (Year of the Dragon), providing a beautiful display for residents and tourists.

According to the plan for renovating and operating the Saigon riverside park, the section from Ba Son Bridge to the Saigon River tunnel in Thu Thiem ward (Thu Duc city) is divided into 14 categories.

Tens of thousands of sunflower seedlings were transplanted by workers from the nursery to the Saigon River area near the Thu Thiem New Urban Area. The sunflower field is located behind the An Khanh communal house, facing the Saigon River.

Currently, 36,000 sunflowers will be planted on an area of ​​approximately 5,000 square meters, a task that workers will complete within two days.

The sunflower garden is expected to be an impressive check-in spot, attracting a large number of locals and tourists, especially young people, to admire it during this year's Tet holiday.

According to Ms. Chau Ngoc Minh Dang, Deputy Director of Hoang Lam Company, the sunflower garden along the Saigon River on the Thu Thiem side will bloom in about a month.

There are over 100 workers on the construction site, involved in various aspects of the project.

The sunflower field is part of a plan to renovate and beautify the eastern bank of the Saigon River, stretching over 800 meters from Ba Son Bridge to the top of the Thu Thiem Tunnel (Thu Duc City). Representatives from the Thu Duc City People's Committee stated that they are striving to complete several items, such as the sunflower garden and riverside park, before the 2024 New Year to serve the public. Other items will be completed before the 2024 Lunar New Year. Long-term structural projects will be completed before April 30, 2024.
