During a trip to the ancestral land of Vietnam, there is a destination that those who love the beauty of nature should not miss: the Ao Gioi - Suoi Tien tourist area, located on Na Mountain, in Quan Khe village, Hien Luong commune, Ha Hoa district. This is one of the famous tourist destinations with picturesque scenery and clear, flowing water all year round.

Ao Giời is the first waterfall in the system of waterfalls on the Ao Giời route.
According to the legend of "Children of the Dragon and the Immortal," after Mother Au Co gave birth to a hundred eggs, which hatched into a hundred children, Lac Long Quan took 50 children to the sea, while Au Co took 50 children to the mountains. Once the settlement was stable, Mother Au Co and her children moved to new lands. When the country was finally unified and the borders expanded, she returned to Hien Luong, deciding to settle there for the rest of her life.
Legend has it that on the 25th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Monkey (Nhâm Thân), Mother Âu Cơ dreamt that an immortal told her, "On the 7th day of the 1st lunar month, you must return to heaven as ordered by your father, the king. Before returning to heaven, go to Mount Nỏ where someone will be waiting to greet you." Having said this, the immortal merged into a cloud and disappeared.
That Tet holiday, Mother Au Co summoned all her children and grandchildren from the area to celebrate joyfully, organizing many exciting games such as wrestling, swinging, and tug-of-war. On the morning of the 7th day of the first lunar month, Mother Au Co instructed her children to work diligently at home, love and support each other, and then went westward up Mount No (later called Mount Na) to a rocky ravine. She walked up the rocky slope, and as the sun rose high, she suddenly heard giggling. It turned out that a group of fairies had brought their robes down to welcome her. One fairy knelt before Mother Au Co and said, "We have come here on the orders of the Jade Emperor to welcome you. Please come down to the bathing pool and change your clothes so you can return to heaven in time."

This place has a picturesque landscape, with clear blue water flowing year-round.
The water from the mother's bath flowed down the mountain, forming a stream. People called it the Heavenly Pond - Fairy Stream, and that's why. When she flew back to Heaven with the fairies, she tried to fly as low as possible to see her children and her home one last time. Suddenly, she dropped her pink scarf as if to leave behind her boundless love for her descendants.
Since then, the people of the region have held a grand ceremony on the 7th day of the first lunar month to commemorate Mother Au Co at the Temple of Mother Au Co. On this day, they bring a pink silk ribbon and spread it on the ancient banyan tree at the temple, to remember Mother Au Co's immense contributions...
Along with the legend of Mother Au Co, the Ao Gioi - Suoi Tien tourist area also preserves many other fascinating folk tales about deities and fairies, and retains its pristine yet captivating beauty.
Comrade Le Dang Phuong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hien Luong commune, said: The Ao Gioi - Suoi Tien tourist area has two branches, one side is Ao Gioi, the other side is Suoi Tien. The entire scenic area has a total of over 30 large and small waterfalls divided into tiers with water flowing year-round, including some waterfalls over 20m high. The total area of the area is 670 hectares, located within the special-use forest conservation plan, of which 199.8 hectares are planned as the Ao Gioi - Suoi Tien ecological tourist area.
Blessed by nature, this place boasts not only picturesque landscapes but also consistently fresh and cool air. It's a particularly suitable tourist destination for hot summer days.
Previously, accessing the tourist area required traveling along a very difficult trail. In 2008, the road was paved, and in 2023, the government invested in upgrading and expanding it, facilitating travel, tourism, and exploration. Currently, taking advantage of the cool water source from Na Mountain, at the foot of the mountain, Mr. Le Kien Chung has decided to invest in and develop a sturgeon farming model, which not only brings high economic efficiency but also meets the culinary needs of tourists visiting the area.
As an eco-tourism area with many beautiful and mystical landscapes of mountains, forests, and waterfalls, Ao Gioi - Suoi Tien offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy a cool and tranquil green space, experience fun activities and picnics, and learn about the history and culture of the local people. We are confident that this will be an interesting and meaningful destination for tourists visiting Phu Tho .
