Tropical depression intensifies into typhoon number 2.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 AM on July 5th, the typhoon's center was located at approximately 20.3 degrees North latitude and 117.4 degrees East longitude. Its intensity was level 8-9 (62–88 km/h), with gusts up to level 11. It was moving slowly in a west-northwest direction at a speed of about 5–10 km/h.

Last night, the tropical depression in the northeastern part of the South China Sea strengthened into a typhoon, the second typhoon of 2025 (international name Danas).

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 AM on July 5th, the typhoon's center was located at approximately 20.3 degrees North latitude and 117.4 degrees East longitude. Its intensity was level 8-9 (62–88 km/h), with gusts up to level 11. It was moving slowly in a west-northwest direction at a speed of about 5–10 km/h.

Forecasts for today and tonight (the next 24 hours) indicate that Typhoon No. 2 is likely to gradually change direction, moving towards the North-Northwest at a speed of 5-10 km/hour and potentially intensifying.

By 7 AM tomorrow (July 6th), the storm's center will be located in the northeastern part of the South China Sea, with its intensity reaching level 10-11, and gusts up to level 13.

Throughout tomorrow day and night (the next 24-48 hours), the storm will move in a North-Northeast direction at a speed of 15 km/hour.

By 7:00 AM on July 7th, the storm's center was located over the sea off Fujian Province (China), with its intensity at level 10, gusting to level 12.

Over the next 48 to 72 hours, the storm will maintain its direction of movement, traveling along the Taiwan Strait (China), and its intensity is likely to weaken.

By 7:00 AM on July 8th, the storm's center was located over the coastal area of ​​Zhejiang Province (China), with the strongest winds near the center reaching level 8, gusting to level 12.

Over the next 72 to 96 hours, the storm will move west-northwest at a speed of approximately 10 km/hour and gradually weaken into a low-pressure area.

Based on current forecasts, it can be concluded that Typhoon No. 2 will not affect the mainland of Vietnam.

Due to the influence of the storm, in the northeastern part of the North East Sea, there will be stormy weather, strong winds of force 7-8, reaching force 9-11 near the storm's center, with gusts up to force 13. The sea will be extremely rough, with waves 4.0-6.0m high.

Vessels operating in hazardous areas are at high risk of being affected by thunderstorms, tornadoes, strong winds, and high waves.
