According to a Wall Street Journal report, Apple is in negotiations to invest in OpenAI, the company that owns ChatGPT and is a leader in generative AI.

Sources indicate that OpenAI is in negotiations to achieve a valuation of $100 billion in a new funding round.
Microsoft, OpenAI's largest investor and currently receiving half of the company's profits, will also participate in the new funding round.
If confirmed, Apple's collaboration with OpenAI would coincide with September 9th – the date the company launches its new iPhone models.
In June 2024, Apple announced it would offer OpenAI technology as a software option for its highest-end iPhone models. However, the company also stated that AI tools from other companies would be integrated in the future.
Currently, most AI features used by Apple users rely on the company's own technology, but more complex tasks can switch to OpenAI technology if customers choose.
This move shows that Apple is increasingly interested in the issue of AI generation – a trend that is reshaping the industry.
