The bookmaker ran advertisements for RichChoi's music video, leading to an illegal gambling website. |
On March 13th, Tri Thức - ZNews reported on the incident where rapper RichChoi uploaded a video containing numerous images and logos of the gambling website B**. Immediately, the artist hid the music video "Anh Biết Mà" from his official YouTube channel. The posts on RichChoi's Facebook and personal accounts also disappeared at the same time. However, the gambling website B** continued to run advertisements for the "Anh Biết Mà" music video on various platforms.
Over the past few days, Facebook and TikTok have been receiving advertising revenue to distribute clips of videos containing images of the aforementioned illegal gambling website. When the link is clicked, the social media platform redirects to a page for registering to play online gambling. Website B**, which is already on the blocked access list in Vietnam, has to constantly change its URL to remain operational.

As a global platform, Facebook doesn't completely block gambling advertisements. However, the social network must comply with the laws of the host country. Therefore, theoretically, Meta should not be able to provide gambling advertisements in Vietnam. However, algorithmic loopholes and lax censorship allow such content to still appear on Facebook.
Research by RestofWorld shows that despite being banned, at least thousands of gambling advertisements appear in India and Southeast Asia every month.
The music video "Anh Biết Mà" (I Know) was uploaded by RichChoi on February 13th. Before being deleted, the video had over 350,000 views. Notably, in just 2 minutes and 41 seconds of the video, the logo of the illegal gambling website B** appeared repeatedly. This is an illegal website, banned from operation and blacklisted for advertising in Vietnam.
Right from the opening seconds, the B** gambling website logo appears on the RichChoi building. The main scenes of the music video incorporate images of this illegal entity in the form of background lighting, a logo in the background, on eating utensils, or on the dancers' clothing. The gambling website logo is clearly displayed and repeated continuously from multiple camera angles.
Besides the embedded imagery, the name of the aforementioned gambling company also appears in the lyrics. "Have you got B** yet? Okay, I have," RichChoi raps. This line is repeated 5 times in the music video. Recently on TikTok, clips of the song "Anh Biết Mà" (I Know) with lyrics and imagery related to the gambling company B** have been used in advertisements.
