In the year-end summary report, Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of services, highlighted the outstanding achievements of Apple TV and Apple Music. He also affirmed the company's commitment to continued innovation in the coming year, with a focus on privacy and user experience.
According to Cue, Apple TV has just set a new record for monthly active users, while Apple Music has also reached an all-time high in subscribers. These figures further solidify the central role of services in Apple's business strategy, which is becoming a steady source of profit growth.
In an announcement released on January 12th, Eddy Cue stated that 2025 will be a "record-breaking" year for Apple's services.
“Looking ahead, we will continue to deliver innovation and intelligent improvements to Apple’s services, a team driven by a commitment to privacy and exceptional customer experiences,” Cue wrote.
While maintaining its stance of not disclosing Apple TV subscriber numbers, the iPhone maker has for the first time shared some indicators of the platform's growth. According to Cue, in December 2025 alone, Apple TV recorded a "new monthly record" for engagement and viewership, with total viewing hours increasing 36% compared to the same period in 2024.
The main driver of this growth came from the Pluribus series, described by Eddy Cue as “the biggest series ever” on Apple TV. In addition, the platform benefited from the streaming of content such as F1, The Family Plan 2, and the classic Peanuts cartoon A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Not only Apple TV, but Apple Music also set new records for listenership and subscriptions over the past year. However, similar to other services, Apple does not release specific figures.
Apple's services segment also includes several other important pillars. The App Store continues to play a central role, with over 850 million users on average each week. Accordingly, since 2008, developers have earned over $550 billion through this platform. Apple Pay is also noteworthy for generating over $100 billion in additional revenue for global retailers, while also helping to prevent over $1 billion in fraud.
Apple is also expanding its service ecosystem through the Apple One package, which combines Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, iCloud storage, and many other features into a single bundle. In particular, recent changes to Apple TV show that the company is serious about expanding the reach and audience of this streaming platform.
