A total of 17 players across the men's, women's and academy teams will leave the Emirates Stadium, marking a major squad overhaul by manager Mikel Arteta, it has been announced.

Among the most notable departures is midfielder Jorginho. The Italian star, who won the Champions League with Chelsea and joined Arsenal in January 2023, will move to Flamengo as a free agent after his contract expires.

Despite his significant contribution in terms of experience and stability in midfield, Jorginho is no longer in Arteta's long-term plans.

Another name that will leave Arsenal is full-back Kieran Tierney. The Scot spent most of last season on loan at Real Sociedad and has now agreed a deal to join an undisclosed club. Despite high hopes, Tierney's career has not reached its peak due to persistent injuries.

Two loan contracts, Neto (Bournemouth) and Raheem Sterling (Chelsea), will also return to their parent clubs.

In addition, Arsenal also announced that they will release 13 young players from the academy system, including Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, Khayon Edwards, Jack Henry-Francis, Salah-Eddine Oulad M'Hand, Brian Okonkwo and Ismail M'Hand. These are names that were expected but could not break into the first team.

Notably, Thomas Partey, who is believed to be on the verge of leaving Arsenal this summer, is in talks to extend his stay at the club. The Ghanaian midfielder is still highly rated when fit, but fitness issues have left his future uncertain.

In the women's team, three players, Teyah Goldie, Lina Hurtig and Amanda Ilestedt, are also set to leave. Meanwhile, Chloe Kelly, an England winger who has been on loan at Arsenal from Manchester City, is in talks to sign a permanent deal. With her City contract set to expire, Kelly could become the next free agent to join Arsenal Women.
