New Day in Ca Village

From a purely agricultural village facing many difficulties, the people of Ca village (An Khanh commune) have learned to take advantage of the land and climate to develop livestock farming at the household and farm levels, gradually increasing their income. Economic development and improved material and spiritual lives have made this year's Ca village temple festival even more vibrant and spectacular, a vivid testament to a changing rural area.

The festival at the communal house, temple, and pagoda of Cả village, An Khánh commune, took place in a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere.

In the early days of Spring 2026 (Year of the Horse), we returned to Ca Village amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the traditional festival at the communal house, temple, and pagoda. This year's festival was quite large-scale with many diverse activities: a cultural program celebrating the Party and the Spring Festival; sports competitions such as volleyball and football; chess and human chess contests; and many folk games that attracted a large number of villagers and tourists.

The village festival at the communal house, temple, and pagoda of Cả is not only an occasion to commemorate the contributions of our ancestors, those who pioneered the land and established the village, but also an opportunity for the villagers to reflect on the achievements of the past year, and to gain renewed faith and motivation to enter a new year filled with success and good fortune.

Many visitors attending the festival were also impressed by the changes in Ca Village. Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, a visitor from Hanoi, shared: "This is my first time attending the festival in Ca Village, but I can clearly feel the joyful atmosphere and strong traditional culture. What impressed me is that even though it's a purely agricultural village, the village roads are spacious and clean, and the houses are well-maintained. I think this is a model of a rural village that develops its economy while preserving traditional culture, and it deserves to be replicated."

The village of Cả currently has 120 households with over 440 inhabitants, comprising 6 ethnic groups living together in harmony. The village now has only 2 poor households receiving social welfare support. For many years, the village has been awarded the title of "Cultural Village"; last year, the percentage of households achieving the title of "Cultural Family" reached 98%.

This transformation didn't happen naturally. The people here have found an economic development direction suited to the local land and climate conditions. Taking advantage of this, more than 90% of households in the village have invested in developing family farms and livestock farms. Even the smallest farms raise a few hundred chickens, ducks, and pigs; larger farms raise over ten thousand animals.

As a result, people's incomes have steadily increased. The average per capita income in Ca village currently reaches approximately 60 million VND/person/year. Typical examples include the families of Mr. Duong Van Nam, Mr. Nguyen Van Vu, and Ms. Do Thi Chin… From families facing many difficulties, thanks to their bold investment in livestock farming and the application of new techniques, these families have risen to become well-off households.

With the economy developing, the villagers have paid more attention to improving their spiritual lives and actively participating in the village's sports and physical activity movements.

Despite being elderly, Mr. Duong Van Chuyen, Head of the Elderly Association, actively participates in economic development. He shared: "My family just sold 8,000 chickens and ducks. Thanks to diligently learning from experience and paying attention to disease prevention, our livestock farming is quite stable. I also regularly exchange information with neighbors about how to care for our livestock. The good news is that people's lives are becoming more prosperous, children have better opportunities for education, and the village is united. This year's festival was much more lively, and seeing everyone so happy makes me very proud."

Mr. Do Van Tho, one of the village's large-scale livestock farmers, happily shared: "My family has been involved in livestock farming for many years. Previously, the scale was small, so the income was unstable. In recent years, my family has boldly invested in expanding the barns and applying biosecurity techniques in livestock farming."

Last year, I sold over 10,000 chickens and ducks, and the prices were quite good, so I'm very pleased. This year, I plan to expand my pig farm to diversify my income. What makes me happiest is that more and more households are doing well, and people are sharing their experiences to develop together.

Economic development has created a solid foundation for the continuous improvement of people's material and spiritual lives. Villagers are willing to contribute their labor and money alongside the government to build roads, cultural centers, and electricity systems, making them increasingly modern and better meeting the community's needs for living and cultural enjoyment. As life becomes more prosperous, village festivals become more vibrant, reflecting the people's aspirations for progress and their hopes for a new year of favorable weather, successful businesses, and prosperity.
