Nghinh Tuong undergoes transformation after merger.

Following the administrative merger, Nghinh Tuong commune (Thai Nguyen province) now has a larger area, a larger population, and more challenging tasks. Nevertheless, thanks to the efforts of the Party committee, the government, and the people, this rural area, which still faces many difficulties, has undergone positive changes.

Many inter-hamlet and inter-commune roads in Nghinh Tuong commune have been paved, facilitating transportation and trade.

Expanding the scope of development

Formed by merging the communes of Nghinh Tuong and Vu Chan, the new commune covers an area of ​​over 160 square kilometers and has a population of more than 6,500 people. Despite being a mountainous commune facing many difficulties, Nghinh Tuong still possesses many "treasures" with its system of hills and mountains interspersed with valleys, creating a majestic natural landscape.

The majority of the residents in the commune are Tay and Dao ethnic minorities. These unique characteristics create opportunities for the locality to develop community-based tourism and cultural experiences; especially in attracting investment in green eco-tourism projects based on the natural landscape.

After the merger, Nghinh Tuong's land resources are more abundant, enabling the locality to accelerate the transformation of crop structures, apply technology to agricultural production, and upgrade local agricultural products. Along with this, it facilitates the development of hill and forest economies , planting large timber forests, and raising large livestock in a sustainable manner.

The merger process has also given this mountainous commune a boost in promoting administrative reform, digital transformation, and improving the efficiency of governance and public administration in the area. The most vivid evidence is the relatively smooth operation of the Public Administrative Service Center.

With the goal of using public satisfaction as a measure of work performance and as a criterion for evaluating and classifying the quality of officials and civil servants, in 2025, the Center processed over 1,600 visits from citizens to carry out administrative procedures; received 896 dossiers into the commune's electronic one-stop service software system, of which nearly 560 dossiers were received online.

Notably, the Center has digitized 798 records, and all records have been processed and results returned on time.

Ms. Ban Thi Hoa, from Ban Cai hamlet, Nghinh Tuong commune, said: "After the merger, what we are most satisfied with is the increasingly professional working style of the commune's officials and civil servants. When we need to complete administrative procedures, we are guided to complete the documents and have them processed quickly, openly, and transparently in the digital environment. The process of delivering results is also very convenient, reducing pressure on the people..."

Efforts to improve people's lives

Nghinh Tuong commune is striving to improve its cultural facilities, contributing to raising the spiritual life of its people.

As a commune still facing many difficulties, Nghinh Tuong, after the merger, has always strived to support its people in economic development. Persistently focusing on agricultural and forestry development, the locality has actively encouraged people to utilize existing potential, diversify crop structures, and introduce high-value livestock into farming, contributing to a positive shift in the agricultural sector's structure.

A notable highlight is that the locality has cultivated over 440 hectares of rice using high-yielding, high-quality pure and hybrid rice varieties, ensuring food security in the area. The commune encourages people to increase their income by investing in tea cultivation and livestock farming (currently, the commune has over 750 buffaloes and cows, over 46,000 pigs, and 69,000 poultry), and focuses on developing the existing 125 hectares of forest…

In particular, the locality has effectively utilized funds from national target programs. For example, from the New Rural Development Program, infrastructure and cultural facilities in the commune center and hamlets have been renovated and upgraded, serving community life for the people better and better.

The lighting system, rural roads, field roads, inter-commune and inter-hamlet roads... have also been gradually invested in and built, effectively meeting the needs of the people and socio-economic development, contributing to making the face of the commune increasingly vibrant, and the material and spiritual lives of the people gradually improved.

For example, with the Sustainable Poverty Reduction Program, in 2025, the commune will be allocated over 2.3 billion VND to invest in programs and projects.

The proper and effective use of capital, focusing on supporting the construction and replication of diversified livelihood models and projects, and developing poverty reduction models prioritizing workers from poor households, near-poor households, newly-escaped-from-poverty households, and people with disabilities (without stable livelihoods), has helped improve the lives of the people. As a result, the poverty rate reduction in the commune in 2025 reached 42%, exceeding the resolution's target by 30.6%.

Furthermore, the socio-economic development program for ethnic minority and mountainous areas has also opened up many opportunities to improve the material and spiritual lives of the people, as capital has been invested in maintaining and repairing community facilities and rural infrastructure such as village cultural centers, concrete roads, bridges, and clean water supply.

Comrade Ha Tuan Phuong, former Secretary of the Party Committee of Nghinh Tuong commune (recently transferred to become Secretary of the Party Committee of La Hien commune), shared: "Starting with many difficulties, Nghinh Tuong has undergone very positive changes. This is the foundation for the commune to develop even more in 2026 and the following years."
