Ba Ria-Vung Tau prioritizes land allocation to attract tourism investment.

As part of the activities of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Tourism Week 2023 program, on November 17th, in Vung Tau City, the People's Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province organized the forum "Developing Green Tourism in Vietnam 2023".

This is crucial content aimed at developing tourism in a professional, high-quality, and sustainable manner, linked to protecting the natural environment, preserving and promoting national cultural values, benefiting local communities, and boosting socio -economic development.

Mr. Le Ngoc Khanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, stated that tourism is considered a comprehensive economic sector, bringing many great economic and social benefits. With continuous growth over the past decades, tourism has affirmed itself as one of the fastest-growing and largest service industries in the world , contributing to the development of countries in general and Vietnam in particular.

In its socio-economic development plan, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province identifies tourism as one of the four pillars of development, alongside industry, seaports, and high-tech agriculture, with the goal of developing Ba Ria-Vung Tau into a high-quality tourism center, an entertainment and resort center worthy of international standards.

"To implement that orientation and goal, in recent times, the province has prioritized land in favorable locations to attract investment in large-scale tourism complexes with high-end international brands, focusing on upgrading existing tourism products, developing resort and entertainment tourism products into distinctive products, and rapidly developing supporting tourism types. The province has also focused on investing in transportation infrastructure connecting tourism development areas, especially developing external transportation such as the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway, coastal roads, Phuoc An bridge… in order to strengthen the linkage of tourism activities in particular and socio-economic development in general with localities in the region and surrounding areas," Mr. Le Ngoc Khanh said.

Furthermore, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province has proactively coordinated with localities in the Southeast region to promote tourism information and attract investment in tourism. Emphasis has been placed on developing human resources for tourism, especially high-quality human resources. Thanks to the efforts of the province and tourism businesses in the area, the total number of visitors to the province in the first 10 months of 2023 reached over 12 million, an increase of 21.9% compared to the same period last year, with total revenue from tourism reaching over 13,000 billion VND, an increase of 31.61% compared to the same period last year.
