According to a leader of Ngoc Hien district, because the incident occurred on the river, it has not yet been determined whether it was caused by an exploding oxygen tank or another reason. Currently, the river water level is high and the current is strong, making the search for the three missing people very difficult.
By 2 PM, authorities had mobilized dozens of people to continue searching for the three victims. The Ngoc Hien District Police are currently determining the location and cause of the explosion.
The Cái Lớn River, also known as Cửa Lớn, runs through Cà Mau province for nearly 60 km, connecting the Bồ Đề and Ông Trang estuaries, with an average width of 200 m. At the accident site, the river is nearly 400 m wide.
