Besides cultural activities, the school also presented many gifts to students from disadvantaged backgrounds on this occasion. Previously, through surveys conducted with homeroom teachers, the classes proactively supported poor students, helping them have a warmer Tet holiday.
Mr. Truong Luong, Deputy Principal of Le Loi Primary School, said: "More than 70% of the school's students are children of ethnic minorities, mainly Khmer people. Every year, the school organizes activities to celebrate the Chol Chnam Thmay New Year to educate about traditions, strengthen solidarity among ethnic groups, and motivate disadvantaged students to excel in their studies."
Representatives from Hiep Thanh Ward Youth Union and the Parent-Teacher Association of Le Loi Primary School presented gifts to underprivileged students to celebrate the Chol Chnam Thmay New Year.
On the same day, to celebrate the Chôl Chnăm Thmây New Year, Nguyen Hue Secondary School awarded 20 scholarships (500,000 VND each) to disadvantaged Khmer ethnic students.
Although the gifts are not of great monetary value, they serve as encouragement, helping the children to have more confidence and strive harder in their studies in the new year.
Mr. Ho Van Khanh, Vice Principal of Nguyen Hue Secondary School, awarded 20 scholarships to disadvantaged Khmer ethnic minority students.
Through practical activities, organizing the Chôl Chnăm Thmây festival in schools not only contributes to preserving and spreading the cultural values of the Khmer people, but also fosters a spirit of solidarity and mutual support, creating more motivation for students to excel in their studies and lives.
