The Vietnam Australia International School (VAS) has attracted nearly 8,000 students over the past 20 years thanks to its continuously improving educational quality, adapting to the changing needs of society.
2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the institution's establishment. From a small facility with 430 students in its first year, VAS has reached nearly 8,000 students across 6 campuses. According to the institution's representatives, VAS has gradually become one of the most prestigious bilingual international schools in Ho Chi Minh City thanks to three main factors: quality products, skilled personnel, and a sound educational philosophy.
Quality products
To cater to the diverse learning aspirations and economic conditions of Vietnamese families in the middle class and above, VAS researches, develops, and refines three educational product lines tailored to specific target groups: the Cambridge English Intensive Program (CEP); the Cambridge International Program (CAP); and the Full Cambridge International Program (CAPI).
In particular, CAPI is VAS's flagship product line, with a high proportion of the Cambridge International Education program taught, accounting for approximately 70% - 82% of the total learning time.
In addition to developing three pathways, VAS has expanded its educational model and offers a comprehensive education program from preschool to grade 12. This allows students to have a continuous and stable learning journey throughout their 15 years of secondary education, without needing to transition between different levels.
"The diversity, longevity, and quality of our products have helped us attract many parents, resulting in a student growth rate of over 1,700% over two decades," a representative of the system affirmed.

Staff
VAS focuses on developing a core team of personnel, including foreign leaders with extensive experience in managing, operating, and developing large-scale multinational education corporations worldwide ; foreign teachers from the UK, the US, Australia, etc.; and highly qualified Vietnamese professionals with a deep understanding of traditions and cultural values.
A multicultural environment, from the leadership to the teaching staff, contributes to creating conditions for generations of students to access and develop in a multicultural environment and prepare them with the skills to integrate internationally.

In terms of pedagogical expertise, VAS also contributes to improving the overall quality of education at Cambridge schools in the region. The system has become a strategic partner of the Cambridge International Examinations Council (CAIE) to establish Cambridge Teacher Training and Development Centres (PDQs) in Vietnam.
Each year, PDQs organizes professional training courses for hundreds of teachers from VAS, other Cambridge schools in Vietnam, and some neighboring countries to improve their skills according to Cambridge standards and obtain internationally recognized professional certificates.
Adapt and innovate according to the social context.
According to Gilles Mahe, CEO of XCL Education Group, the owner of VAS, VAS's educational philosophy is to teach students how to learn, helping them develop self-learning abilities and adaptability to any situation.
"Sixty percent of today's students are capable of doing jobs that don't yet exist, and our task is to help them prepare mentally and skillfully for the job demands of the new era," he said.

To keep pace with societal changes, VAS introduces improvements in learning content and supplements students' practical knowledge through Wellbeing education programs (Peace of mind - Clear intellect - Healthy body), career counseling and university preparation, and 21st-century skills development, alongside subjects from the Cambridge general education curriculum.
