JOIN HANDS AND UNITE TO BUILD THE BORDER

Located in the border area of Hung Phuoc, Bu Dop district, adjacent to Cambodia, Hoang Dieu Border Guard Station is not only a force firmly protecting the territorial sovereignty and national border security but also a reliable support for the ethnic people here. Over 50 years of construction and development, generations of officers and soldiers of Hoang Dieu Border Guard Station have continued the tradition, affirming their irreplaceable role in the people's hearts and minds at the Fatherland's border.

Leaders, officers and soldiers of Hoang Dieu Border Guard Station visit the house under construction for Mr. Hua Van Sang's family (fourth from left), Hung Phuoc commune.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Huu Long, Political Commissar of Hoang Dieu Border Guard Station, shared: “In addition to the task of firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security, the unit also actively coordinates with local Party committees and authorities to help people reduce poverty through specific models and tasks. Thanks to these practical actions, local people have accompanied the border guards in the cause of protecting the border.”

With the motto “When you go, the people will remember you, when you stay, the people will love you”, the image of soldiers in green uniforms fighting side by side with the people, living for the people has become familiar. In the border area of Hung Phuoc, border soldiers are not afraid of difficulties and hardships, sticking to the people, sticking to the area, mobilizing people to obey the law, together building an increasingly strong border.

Mr. Lang Sau's family (right cover) received support from officers and soldiers of Hoang Dieu Border Guard Station to dig a well, improving water for daily life and production.

Mr. Lang Sau in Hamlet 3, Hung Phuoc Commune emotionally said: “My family is in difficult circumstances, but the officers and soldiers of Hoang Dieu Border Guard Station helped us dig wells and treat our eyes. Whenever we needed something, the soldiers were there right away. The soldiers were like family members.”

Not only Mr. Lang Sau but also many households in Hung Phuoc commune have received practical support from officers and soldiers of the border post. For the people here, officers and soldiers of the post are not only functional forces but also family members who always care, share and accompany them in life.

Not only stopping at immediate support, Hoang Dieu Border Guard Station has implemented many sustainable social security models such as: "Border Guard Station's adopted children", "Charity rice jar", "Border house", supporting breeding cows, instructing people on production techniques...

Social security models such as "Adopted children of border guards", "Rice jar of love", support for breeding cows... contribute to helping people escape poverty.

Up to now, the unit has mobilized the construction and handover of many gratitude houses to poor households and ethnic minorities. Livelihood support models have also brought practical results. A typical example is the family of Mr. Hua Van Sang in Hamlet 4, thanks to the support of 100 million VND from officers, soldiers of the station and benefactors, who now have a solid house after many years of living in a temporary house. "Since having a house, I have had the motivation to do business and escape poverty. My family is very grateful for the soldiers' kindness," Mr. Sang shared.

In addition to material things, the station officers also regularly guide people on how to grow crops and raise livestock in accordance with local conditions, helping people improve productivity and stabilize the economy . Mr. Hoang Thanh Thiep, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Phuoc Commune, commented: "The coordination between the border guards and local authorities has created many positive changes. Livelihood support and social security programs have contributed to helping people escape poverty and stabilize their lives."

BUILDING A PEOPLE'S BORDER DEFENSE POSITION

Every Hung Phuoc resident clearly understands their role and responsibility in protecting their “homeland”. From denouncing criminals, preventing illegal border crossings, to actively participating in patrolling and protecting border markers, every citizen is the “eyes and ears” of the authorities on the front line of maintaining security and order. That deep military-civilian relationship is the foundation for building a national border defense posture, where every citizen becomes a “soldier” protecting the border with love for the homeland, with a spirit of solidarity and community responsibility.

The army is always present when people are in trouble, showing the solidarity between the army and people at the border.

With the characteristics of a border area, maintaining territorial sovereignty cannot be separated from the strength of the people. Deeply aware of that, officers and soldiers of Hoang Dieu Border Guard Station always take the people as the root, taking the people's consensus as the fulcrum. From specific and practical actions such as helping people dig wells, build houses, support livelihoods, etc., the affection between the army and the people is increasingly stronger. It is this flesh-and-blood bond that is the solid foundation for promoting the proactive role of the people in protecting the border. This is the decisive factor in building a strong people's border defense posture, protecting the Fatherland's fence in the new situation.

Lieutenant Colonel TRAN HUU LONG, Political Commissar of Hoang Dieu Border Gate Station

Although life in the border area is still difficult, the deep affection between the soldiers in green uniforms and the people of all ethnic groups is contributing to creating new vitality in the border of the Fatherland. The Hoang Dieu border post, with its role as a "steel shield" and "support of affection", is a beautiful symbol of the relationship between the army and the people, of the people silently preserving peace for the sacred motherland.
