The art performance "His Name Shines Forever," organized by the Culture Newspaper, will take place on the evening of May 19th at the Au Co Art Center in Hanoi.

With the participation of artists from multiple generations, the art night promises to create a solemn, profound, and emotionally rich atmosphere, where memories, beliefs, and aspirations for Vietnam resonate together.

Following in the footsteps of the Great Leader

Every May, the Vietnamese people fondly remember the birthday of Uncle Ho – the beloved father of the nation, a brilliant leader, and a world cultural figure. President Ho Chi Minh is the embodiment of noble ideals, a sacred symbol that inspires millions of hearts in Vietnam.

Although he is gone, President Ho Chi Minh 's thoughts, style, and ethics remain a pure spring that nourishes the national soul, a torch illuminating the path for every step of the country's progress today and in the future. His name has transcended national borders, becoming a symbol of freedom, compassion, and the aspiration for peace for all of humanity.

With that spirit in mind, "His Name Shines Forever" is built as a continuous stream of emotions from the past to the present. Originating from Nha Rong Wharf, the program guides viewers through historical moments connected to the journey of national salvation and the revolutionary ideals that he chose. From there, the values of Ho Chi Minh's ideology continue to spread in the process of building and developing the country.

The program is presented through a comprehensive artistic language, combining political commentary, music, documentary imagery, and theatrical performance, creating an epic rich in symbolism and emotion. In it, "the name of the Leader" becomes the red thread connecting history, the present, and the future; connecting national memory with the aspiration for prosperous development in the new era.

"His Name Shines Forever" brought together many renowned artists such as People's Artist Quoc Hung, Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan, Meritorious Artist Phuong Nga, Anh Tho, Quang Ha, Hoang Bach… along with faces beloved by young audiences such as Nguyen Tran Trung Quan, Thu Hang, Duong Duc Hai, Thien Thanh group, Tinh Tu group… The convergence of many generations of artists not only created diverse colors for the performance but also showed that the affection for President Ho Chi Minh has always been enduring over time.

Structured into three overarching parts, "His Name Shines Forever" begins with the chapter " He Went in Search of the Image of the Nation," recreating Uncle Ho's historical journey through timeless songs such as "From Lang Sen Village," "Listening to Boat Songs at Night, Remembering Uncle Ho," "Footprints Ahead," "Aspiration," and "The Road We Take…"

Following this is the "Guiding Light" chapter, honoring the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh through performances such as "The Party Flag," "The Party is My Life," "Uncle Ho's Last Words," "The Song of Ho Chi Minh," along with documentaries like "The Party Flag Made of Blood in Prison," and "Ho Chi Minh - An Endless Source of Inspiration." Stories of revolutionary soldiers from the past, exemplary artists, entrepreneurs, and individuals who have studied and followed Uncle Ho's example will contribute to spreading the enduring values of his ideology.

The program concludes with the segment "Vietnam Remembers the Words of Uncle Ho" - an artistic space imbued with a youthful and spirited atmosphere, depicting the image of a nation rising strongly on the path chosen by Uncle Ho. Songs like "What Could Be More Beautiful?", "Loving the Smile of Vietnam", "A Shining Prosperous Vietnam", and "The Nation Rises" will resonate as an affirmation of the faith, aspirations for development, and future of the Vietnamese people in the new era.

The gathering of artists from multiple generations demonstrates that the affection for President Ho Chi Minh has been enduring over time.

New melodies bring songs about Uncle Ho closer to young people.

The program's general director, People's Artist Quoc Hung, Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, shared: "Towards President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, every Vietnamese person wishes to express their gratitude and love for him in their own way. With this year's 'His Name Shines Forever ,' the Culture Newspaper and the creative team hope to convey the most sincere and profound feelings for President Ho Chi Minh through the language of art."

According to the General Director, the program's script was prepared well in advance, with significant investment in both content and artistic structure. As the performance date approached, the team continued to refine and perfect every detail to ensure the concert achieved the highest emotional depth and quality. From song selection and artist selection to stage design, everything was carefully considered to create a performance that was both solemn and profound, while also reflecting the spirit of the times.

The artistic space of "His Name Shines Forever" is designed with multiple layers. The first part features poignant melodies about Uncle Ho, performed by veteran artists. The second and third parts expand with songs praising the homeland and country, delivered with a youthful spirit by contemporary artists and those beloved by young audiences. Notable examples include singer Nguyen Tran Trung Quan performing "The Song of Ho Chi Minh" with a completely new, modern arrangement. In particular, the appearance of young singer Duong Duc Hai is expected to bring a fresh perspective. With his powerful and scholarly voice, Duc Hai will open the program with the song " Uncle Ho, a Vast Love," a pure and sacred greeting from today's generation to Uncle Ho.

According to People's Artist Quoc Hung, these are all figures with a strong influence on music platforms and social media. Inviting young artists is not only to refresh the program but also to create a connection with today's audience. When they sing songs about President Ho Chi Minh, the program wants to send the message that the affection for him is always carried on by generations.

Participating in the program as both the General Director and a performing artist, People's Artist Quoc Hung said that each time he creates an art program about President Ho Chi Minh, he feels a surge of pride mixed with pressure. The most difficult thing is not the scale of the stage or the number of participating artists, but rather conveying the people's feelings for President Ho Chi Minh through art, so that familiar songs can still create new emotions in the hearts of the audience.

“I am very happy to be invited by the Organizing Committee to perform again. The song I will perform is ' The Road We Take ' - a work I have had many opportunities to perform before and received the audience's affection. But each time I sing it again, especially in an artistic setting dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh, the emotions are always very special,” People's Artist Quoc Hung expressed.

People's Artist Quoc Hung, along with singer Thu Hang and the choir, will also perform the song "The Nation Rises Up" by composer Duc Trinh. The stirring and aspirational melody concludes the performance as an affirmation: Inspired by Ho Chi Minh's ideology, Vietnam is moving towards the future with faith, aspiration, and the strength of national unity.

More than just an art program paying tribute, "His Name Shines Forever" is also a reminder that, amidst the ceaseless flow of time, Uncle Ho's name and the values he left behind remain vibrant in the soul of the nation, continuing to be the spiritual foundation of Vietnam today and in the future.

Currently, the entire production team, from singers and choirs to dance troupes, is in the midst of intensive rehearsals to ensure each performance achieves the highest artistic quality. According to the plan, the program will hold a dress rehearsal on the morning of May 19th before the official performance.
