In recent years, with the support from the policies of the Party and the State, and capital from the National Target Program for Socio -Economic Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, many highland villages of Tan Son District have put on a new coat, a coat of warmth and prosperity.

Many years ago, Dong Son was a remote, isolated, and extremely disadvantaged commune in Tan Son district. The road to the village was winding, rocky, and slippery during floods. Transportation was difficult, trade was slow to develop, and people's lives were lacking in every way, but that was a story of years ago.

Now, inter-village and inter-commune roads are concreted to ensure people's travel and trade needs; social welfare works such as schools and residential cultural houses are built spaciously; people are supported to build houses, get preferential loans, receive appropriate vocational training, transfer techniques to improve production efficiency, develop sustainable agricultural and forestry production... Dong Son officials and people expressed their joy at enjoying the State's investment policies under the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2030 (abbreviated as Program 1719).

Immediately after receiving the direction from the district level on implementing the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2030, the commune focused on issuing Decisions and Plans to direct the implementation of the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2025. Directing departments, branches and residential areas to strengthen the information and propaganda work on the Program implementation plan to all organizations and individuals in the area through many forms such as: Commune radio station, monthly meetings and residential area meetings so that people can understand, commune leaders and specialized civil servants are directly responsible for meetings and implementation in residential areas.

Coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio- political organizations of the commune to propagate and mobilize union members and members to attach their functions and tasks to actively participate in the movement to build new rural areas, the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, ensuring effectiveness, close to the actual situation of the locality, mobilizing people to join hands in building new rural areas, eliminating backward customs, practices, and social evils.

At the same time, taking advantage of resources from the National Target Programs, especially Program 1719; many contents, sub-projects, and projects under the program have been focused on and synchronously implemented by the Party Committee and the communal government, promoting the internal strength of the people. Accordingly, in the period of 2021-2025, Dong Son will benefit from Project 1, Project 3, Project 4, Project 6 and Project 10 with a total investment capital of over 4 billion VND.

In developing sustainable agricultural and forestry production, promoting the potential and strengths of regions to produce goods according to the value chain under Project 3 in the National Target Program on socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period of 2021-2025 has always been effectively implemented by the Party Committee and authorities of Dong Son commune, Tan Son district to the people... In which, Sub-project 1: Developing sustainable agricultural and forestry economy, associated with forest protection and increasing income for people. With a total contracted forest area of ​​293.3 hectares, from 2022 to 2023, nearly 150 million VND has been disbursed.

The resolution of the shortage of residential land, housing, production land, and domestic water according to Project 1 has also been implemented. Accordingly, there are a total of 15 households, in 2023, 12/15 households have been implemented, accepted and disbursed with an amount of 528 million VND. The source transferred to 2024 is 132 million VND. In 2024, the commune continues to arrange 5 households to the Ban Lai resettlement area, the remaining 3 households in need of land use right certificates have made a request to the District People's Committee to issue land use right certificates. At the same time, the commune continues to support 3 households to build houses in Xuan 2 area, Ben Than area, Xom Moi area with an amount of 132 million VND...

Up to now, the basic indicators have ensured progress and efficiency, with 9/13 indicators having reached and exceeded 100% of the plan. Budget revenue in the area reached over 19 billion VND, reaching 146.062% of the annual plan; the reduction in the poverty rate planned for 2024 (down 4%) reached 100% of the annual plan; The rate of residential areas using clean water and hygienic water reached 100%...

Comrade Ha Thanh Giap - Chairman of the Commune People's Committee enthusiastically shared: Through the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2025 period, it has contributed to gradually stabilizing the lives and increasing the income of local people. Thanks to that, rural infrastructure and social security have been gradually ensured, the rate of poor and near-poor households has gradually decreased over the years. People are excited, enthusiastic about competing, working in production, and the appearance of the countryside has changed positively.

Mrs. Ha Thi Duong's household in Mit 2 area received support to raise goats for breeding, which initially brought economic efficiency.

In the coming time, in order for the program to be implemented effectively and synchronously, the commune will strengthen the work of inspecting and evaluating the effectiveness of the program, ensuring publicity and democracy according to the principle of "People know, people discuss, people do, people check, people supervise, people benefit" in the management and use of resources associated with the implementation of the Grassroots Democracy Regulations... Thereby, gradually improving the material and spiritual life of the people of Dong Son commune.
