News following the events

Whenever the entire province embarks on major events, the team of journalists in the province engages in a special "campaign." Beyond simply reporting the news, they also contribute to shaping the social atmosphere, spreading confidence, and connecting the will of the Party, the government, and the people.

With 15 years of experience in the profession, reporter Le Hieu from Hung Yen Newspaper, Radio, and Television has been involved in Party building for over 10 years. Often assigned to cover important political events in the province, reporter Le Hieu shared: "Before major events, in addition to closely following and strictly adhering to the plans, directives, and assignments of the Board of Directors and the Department, I always proactively plan to best complete the assigned tasks. I always remember the professional lesson 'get ahead of the event and leave after the event' to be ready for reporting activities, ensuring the fastest and most accurate news coverage." Reporter Mai Lien, also from Hung Yen Newspaper, Radio, and Television, has nearly 20 years of experience in the profession. She shared a memorable experience when she was assigned to create a documentary to promote the 1st Provincial Party Congress, which took place in early October 2025. At that time, the province had only been merged into a single administrative unit for three months. The documentary needed to provide a comprehensive, core assessment of the socio-economic development results of both the former Hung Yen and Thai Binh provinces over the past term, and outline the strategic directions of the newly merged Hung Yen province for the new term. The content and visuals demanded high quality, while the production time was tight. However, with the direct guidance and support of the leadership, prior preparation of the visuals, and after working day and night, the documentary was completed in time for the Congress's publicity campaign and received high praise for its quality.

Being both ahead of and behind events is a defining characteristic of the journalistic profession. In July 2025, the two provinces of Hung Yen and Thai Binh merged, and the Hung Yen Newspaper and Thai Binh Newspaper also merged to form the Hung Yen Newspaper and Radio & Television Station. Although it was a merger of two agencies, not long before that, there was also the merger of the Thai Binh Newspaper - Thai Binh Radio & Television Station and the Hung Yen Newspaper - Hung Yen Radio & Television Station. Four agencies with four distinct working styles, but the staff and reporters share one common, unified trait: they are all people who "prepare before and after events," so initial differences quickly disappear, replaced by an enthusiastic and seamless work ethic. The first issue, published on July 1, 2025, marked the first day of the provincial-level administrative unit merger. This 20-page, A3-sized newspaper comprehensively and richly reflected the momentous event of the merger, the operation of the two-tiered local government, and the trust and expectations of officials and the people in this new development journey. The first evening news program on television after the merger, along with detailed coverage of the announcement ceremony of the Central and provincial resolutions and decisions on the reorganization of provincial and commune-level administrative units, also comprehensively reflected the first working day, the spirit, joy, and expectations of the people in both the North and South of the province. This harmonious collaboration was achieved thanks to the proactive preparation of content by the specialized departments and the early and close guidance of the leadership. Before every major national or provincial event, the discussions, planning, and agreement that take days, even months, by those who "take the initiative" ensure that information is always timely and accurate for readers.

Building and spreading trust

The elections for the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, held in mid-March, were a great success, and this success was significantly contributed to by the province's leading media outlets.

While Party Congresses and elections carry a distinctly political dimension, cultural festivals serve as vibrant platforms, and the press plays a crucial role in creating a lively atmosphere and encouraging public participation. To produce a live television broadcast, a team of 30-40 people is needed. All preparations, including equipment, setup, and transmission testing, must be completed a day in advance to ensure that all technical aspects are precise, smooth, and free from any unfortunate mishaps during the event. For reporters, before major cultural events, they immerse themselves in the crowds, capturing vivid moments and showcasing the cultural values being preserved, maintained, and promoted.

Along with the province's main press agency, Pho Hien Arts and Literature Magazine has closely followed the propaganda guidelines of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department. In addition to publishing creative works and in-depth research, the magazine's issues feature articles reflecting political, economic, cultural, and social events, making a significant contribution to the province's propaganda efforts.

Before every major event, the press in Hung Yen always acts as a vanguard force on the ideological and cultural front. Newspaper pages, radio and television news broadcasts not only record and reflect the flow of life, but also contribute to shaping awareness, strengthening belief, and inspiring aspirations for development. In the modern pace of life, journalists in the province remain steadfast, maintaining a "warm heart and a cool head," in harmony with unwavering responsibility, passion, and a desire to contribute.

In the digital age, especially with the rapid development of social media, journalistic activities need to change. However, the Board of Directors of Hung Yen Newspaper, Radio, and Television always emphasizes that, along with the need for speed, all information published across all media platforms must ensure absolute accuracy and a strong sense of direction. In any context or event, each article, feature, report, and news bulletin must uphold standards and build public trust in a professional media organization that serves as the mouthpiece of the Party Committee, government, and people.
