Transparency in hospital fees, monitoring of medical expenses.
The Ministry of Health officially launched the Medical Expense Guarantee Portal on the morning of February 2nd, with the participation of Professor Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health.

Medical expense guarantees significantly reduce administrative procedures and allow authorities to monitor healthcare costs.

According to Professor Thuan, hospital management must be based on quality and efficiency, not on formal scale. Improving service quality, reforming finances, and streamlining payment methods must precede other measures to properly guide the behavior of the entire system.
Dr. Ha Anh Duc, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health), said that through the hospital fee guarantee platform, the entire process from patient verification, expenses, and payment procedures is digitized and automated, ensuring transparency and accuracy in the medical examination and treatment process, with the support ofSHB Bank in technology and financial solutions.
Mr. Duc assessed that the implementation of the Hospital Fee Payment Guarantee Portal helps automate the recording, reconciliation, and settlement of payments, thereby significantly reducing the workload for the cashier, accounting, and finance departments at hospitals; and limiting errors and risks in the payment process.
Furthermore, the interconnection of patient identification data contributes to unifying patient information across the entire system, creating a foundation for data-driven healthcare management. In the long term, standardized and interconnected data will effectively support statistical work, monitoring healthcare costs, tracking healthcare needs, and policy planning in the fields of healthcare, insurance, and social security.
For patients, the most obvious benefit is saving time and increasing convenience during medical examinations and treatments, no longer being dependent on cash or queuing at the cashier's counter, thus allowing them to focus more on the treatment process.
According to Thao, a representative from Ha Dong General Hospital (Hanoi), after more than a week of implementing the hospital fee guarantee service, over 100 customers have tried it. Using the app to access the hospital fee payment guarantee service only takes about 2 minutes.
