An Observer reporter suggests that tourists looking for a travel destination in Vietnam to enjoy local street food, surfing, and visit UNESCO-recognized historical sites should consider stopping in Da Nang.
Vietnam's leading tourist city is described as "modern with blue seas, white sands, and diverse, colorful public cultural programs, especially on weekend evenings." Currently, the number of international tourists visiting Da Nang in 2023 has even exceeded pre-pandemic levels.
Thanks to its central location, Da Nang often has many direct flights from popular tourist destinations in Asia such as Taipei, Seoul, or Tokyo. International tourists can easily fly directly to this central Vietnamese coastal city instead of having to transit in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi .
From Da Nang, tourists can easily visit famous nearby tourist destinations such as My Son Sanctuary, Hoi An, and the ancient capital of Hue. These locations are all less than two hours' drive from Da Nang. "Visitors can observe how locals make Vietnamese savory pancakes (banh xeo) on a pan. The pancakes have fillings of meat, shrimp, or a combination of both," the author suggests.
