
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of the city, instructed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with relevant departments and localities to strengthen propaganda efforts among traders to ensure safe trading, entertainment, and civilized tourism services.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will review and compile proposals from relevant units regarding Cai Rang Floating Market to advise the City People's Committee; the Department of Finance will consider and advise on matters related to funding for the implementation of several tasks in managing and developing the floating market. Building upon the previous project for the preservation and promotion of Cai Rang Floating Market, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism take the lead in developing a subsequent project aimed at the long-term and sustainable development of the floating market.

Mr. Sam Long Giang, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, said that in the coming time, the Department will survey and document information, materials, artifacts, and practice spaces of the Cai Rang Floating Market cultural heritage to contribute to protecting, introducing, and promoting the floating market. The Department will strengthen propaganda about the code of conduct for civilized tourism, link the development of tours to attract tourists to the floating market; and encourage businesses to research and develop tourism products at the Cai Rang Floating Market.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is stepping up tourism promotion activities by effectively utilizing marketing, communication tools, the internet, and applying technology in advertising and promotion.
City authorities have invested in building embankments along the Can Tho River to address climate change, constructing new piers for the floating market and related facilities, and upgrading Nguyen Viet Dung road (the road leading to Cai Rang Floating Market). Many tourism service points linked to Cai Rang Floating Market have been established, providing good service to tourists, such as Que Toi rest stop, Ben Do Xua homestay, Nine homestay, etc.

According to local authorities, there are currently over 200 households trading at Cai Rang Floating Market, mainly dealing in vegetables, fruits, food services, souvenirs, and transporting tourists. Recently, local authorities have intensified efforts to educate and encourage people and traders to comply with legal regulations regarding waterway safety, product quality, pricing, standards for watercraft, vehicle registration and inspection, and carrying no more passengers than permitted.
